The Loss
Carmella many years ago could see like any other, in fact her sight rivalled that of any hawk or cat, she could see a great distance clearer than most but at a young age the beautiful woman was blinded due to a terrible event.
Carmella once lived in a close kept community with her family, there were few problems and the villagers were never put through hardship, at least not until a visitor appeared. Dressed in a black cloak and a mask revealing naught but a pair of eyes the stranger seemed pleasant enough until their gloves hands appeared from beneath the cloak. Glowing with some unknown power the hands clenched and suddenly a great light encased the entire village, Carmella lost her sight at that point although there was a greater cost, her family disappeared, consumed by the power wielded by the stranger. Not only that, Carmella was born human but the power changed her body completely, human once but no more.
Blinded and left alone Carmella gradually rebuilt her life and in time she realized that although her sight had gone her other senses had grown substantially, she was powerful and deadly like a predator in the dark and her greatest weakness gradually became her greatest strength.
