The faint CLINK of chain mail beckoned in the darkness of the seemingly abandoned street, naught but the odd torch illuminated the well worn cobbled path and the dirty windows of the buildings lined on each side seemed to loom over menacingly in the shadow's. The town was known for it's dark reputation and certainly at night it upheld this belief.

The sound of metal armour once again echoed before it was replaced with a near lifeless yawn as a woman, with torch in hand, gradually wandered down the cobbled path. Dressed from head to toe in armour, a rather standard and aged uniform due to it's wear, the woman was quite clearly one of the town guards once again patrolling. The armour was dull and on the verge of rusting showing that it had likely had more than one owner in the past, in fact there was a chance that the armour was older than the woman wearing it, it certainly didn't seem to fit her frame as well as it should have.

The town guard wandered alone with her sword clattering by her side, the street continued it's silence for while the town had a reputation rarely did anything truly happen, aside from the odd low life there was little to threaten the peasants of the homestead. Usually at least.

A shadow moved above atop the roof's of the houses away from the light and wandering eyes of the woman below, the guard had no idea that she was being hunted and had been since her shift began two hours previous. The woman had a secret that few knew but unfortunately for her the shadow knew it.

The shadow above slowed it's pace and for a moment was illuminated by a high torch fastened to a two story building, it became clear that the creature was female from her body shape but not human for a green tail sprouted from her behind and moved with a slow sway as it's owner watched the guard below. It was clear that the woman was some sort of reptile, rarely seen in the town but not unheard of. Their trickery and cunning however was well known.

The hooded lizard moved a hand towards her belt and pulled from a small bag fastened to it a sketch of a woman, it was not masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but it was clear that the face on the piece of parchment was in fact that of the guard walking the street below. The lizard had found her target.

The guard had continued to wander, the path leading her to a small bridge that she was destined to pass under, the lizard knew what had to be done and so moved from rooftop to rooftop before landing with near silence behind the woman just as she entered the darkness of the passageway.

The guard's torch was suddenly extinguished before a lewd almost wet sound echoed in the darkness, the clatter of metal echoed once again and joining it came a muffled scream before there was silence, a eerie silence that told any who had been listening something grim had just occurred. It was broken by a stifled BELCH before a figure appeared from the other side of the passage, the hooded lizard.

There was another clatter of metal as the lizard kicked a well worn helmet away from her feet, it had quite obviously been the guards but this was not what was strange about the situation, the lizard was now sporting a hefty bulge on her midsection, squirming in a rampant flashing it was clear the guard had met an untimely end in the lizards gut.

The lizard grinned slightly before she faded into the shadows, the contract fresh on her mind as she moved towards a tavern on the outskirts of the town.

It was a swift journey but made slightly uncomfortable by her passenger, the lizard was a professional however and ignored the struggles until finally she was at the tavern, entering without pause she found a table and waited for her contact who appeared not long after. A man equally as hooded as the woman smiled before sitting.

“Ah well done Kathali, another contract complete I see. You know she was the lost heir to the King, without her the bloodline ends”

The lizard smirked for a moment as she glanced at her belly, it looked as if she wouldn't reply but she eventually did.

“Tastes just the same as anyone else. Now......my payment”

The man pulled from his pocked a purse filled with gold coins, swiftly he passed it to Kathali who inspected the contents before putting them in her own pocket. She looked ready to leave before the man spoke once more.

“You bounty hunters are all alike, money is all you care about”

Kathali rose from the table and slowly began to wander away, her gut continued to squirm. She turned slowly to look at the man.

“It depends on the contract”

With that said the lizard left to disappear into the shadows once more, the man believed his contract had come to a fortunate end but unknown to him a mile or so from the tavern there echoed a retching sound. A Lost princess was spared an untimely fate after all and a lizard disappeared to find another contract....
