Adelle was born in the desert, under the sweltering sun, her parents abandoning her at such a young age left vulnerable and alone to the heat and the gritty sand! For days she sought shelter, moving from oasis to oasis looking for a home, looking for someplace to belong. Eventually through all her searches the very young Nagaling found a town, almost instantly people took an interest in her, a group of men in particular. chasing her and cornering her in an alley way she could do nothing against what they did to her, they enslaved her, and brought her to a specialty camp where she amongst others like her were trained to become slave performers for the streets. Forced to learn dances orchestrated through the sound of a Pungi flute, so much so that if one is played around her that she has a chance to become hypnotized by it, and preform a dance!
an example of a Naga dance if the musician knows how to play at a tune to get her to that pace, if not, at most you might get a subtle hip bumping ;)As Adelle grew older, her masters began realizing that she could become a threat to them, so they would start attaching rings around her neck, They would tell her that it made her look more pretty, but in truth it was to stop her from being able to swallow anything larger then those rings could stretch! Leaving her to eat rats, birds, and other smaller creatures instead, she would almost never feel completely satisfied or full because of it.
One particular night one of her masters tried to take advantage of her, force her into doing something that she didn't want to do, and made one carnal mistake, they may have taken away her ability to swallow someone whole, but they forgot one thing, she was still at heart a cobra, a highly venomous snake, she bit him and injected him with his nurotoxin leaving him to die as she escaped into the cover of night.
The rings around her neck would make life incredibly difficult for her, never able to eat something big enough to satisfy herself would always go hungry. Eventually she found refuge in an oasis that had a plentiful supply of fish! even still she couldn't satisfy her hunger until one day movement caught her attention, stumbling through the greenery was a very little girl, her mouth salivating at the thought of trying to eat her, even to the point that she began to slither closer. But the closer she got, the more she realized what had happened, this little girl, was abandoned, scared and lost! Just as she had been so many years ago.
Instead of eating the young woman, she would try, after calming her down from fear, to console her, and let her know that she doesn't have to be afraid, that Adelle would take care of her! She found out quickly that the little girl couldn't speak, feeling saddened by this would have to name her, insisting on calling her Emerald, due to the overwhelmingly green eyes that seemed so eager to learn, Eventually the two grew to become almost inseparable! like a mother and daughter they moved through the desert together, Adelle would do anything to protect the little girl, Do everything she can to make sure that she is living the best life that the naga could provide for her!
Adelle even going so far as to learn how to play the Pungi herself going from town to town charming snakes she catches, which is a difficult task to say the lest, taking a lot of her concentration to just play the instrument, Emerald loves it when Adelle plays for her, watching the snake she charms wiggle and dance in her own coils!
