Born and raised in the Ascalon countryside, Adena lived most of her childhood in Ashford, a village only a short walk from the main city. During her childhood and young adulthood, she would often enjoy simply walking around the area around Ascalon, or swimming in the lake nearby. Having had no mother since she died a few years after she was born, Adena developed a strong bond with her father. Often, he would accompany her on her walks, heading as far as the orchards around Fort Ranik to the Green Hills around Lord Barradins estate.
Throughout her life, Ascalon was the only world she knew. On the odd occasion that she was in the city as opposed to the countryside, she was walking the streets, chatting to other friendly faces and she was always warmly welcomed by anyone she met. She had a smile that was infectious, no matter what the situation was, it could spread quickly and even difuse some arguments.
A few weeks after she turned seventeen, she was deciding what she wanted to do with herself. She looked into different avenues, some political, some local and even some that she could use to defend herself should the need arise. After one such day of study where she seemed not to be getting anywhere, she found herself gazing into the fireplace and watching the flames in their enchanting dance. Suddenly, she found a desire to manipulate and craft the flame and so took up the path of the elementalist. Over the next few days, she became very hungry for knowledge, travelling around looking for teachers. It was these people who further gave her meaning and each spell she took to with grace, swiftly learning each nuance of the elementalist's mantle. Over time, she also learned some things of the mesmer, having seen how the flames can be enchanting to her though the flame remained her passion.
However, once fateful day came that changed Adena forever. It was the day of the Searing, when the Charr attacked with the might of fire she was only too familiar with. She was at her home in Ashford when it happened. Rains of fire came and devastated the countryside she loved, and the kingdom that was all she knew. She ran outside to see what was happening and as she did, a bolt of flame struck the house. Horror came over here as she rushed back, but beaten back by the heat, she could only watch as her father, weakened by the onset of later life stumbled into the doorway and collapsed. Try as she might to help him, she could only watch as the flames consumed his remaining breath, burning him beyond recognition. She knew nothing more than a strangers arms lifting her, and carrying her to safety while she screamed and sobbed for the loss of her only family.
What people knew of Adena was dead, all that remained was a shell of a person. It was many weeks before she even stepped out of the tent that had been her home since that day, shared with a man who knew her father. He had been looking after her, making sure she ate and drank, however difficult it was. The first time she saw the ruins of her once beautiful home, the tears began anew. Guided by the man, she was taken to a memorial chamber where her father's name was one that was written there. She began to speak to her father, to say how much she missed him and wanted him there again from behind her tears after which she felt a warmth in her heart. She realised he wasn't truly dead if she kept his memory close to her, and for the first time since the event, she was able to smile before breaking down into tears again.
A year or so later, Adena found herself once more before where the gates of Ascalon once stood proud. Visions of what the land looked like before came to her again, as they would do each time she was outside but this time, they strengthened her, as did her father's memory and she vowed vengeance upon the Charr, for what they did.

That was a long time ago, or so it seemed, as now Adena has become milk in the great breasts of
White_Mage_Leaf, a blissful end to a troubled life.
