Background:

Aida is a very curious and strange mermaid. She wasn't always one thought, In fact she used to be a little backwater farmer girl that already had a innate talent with psionics. Often manipulating things with her brains and fooling people to believe she was a witch or sorceress of sorts, she thought it was rather fun being popular as she made many friends and kept away many bothersome people, how ever she never wanted to hurt anyone while doing it. Unfortunately this childish play caught the attention of the local government and they had other ideas in mind for her and her talents.

One dreadful night, spending time with her family, The government sought this as a special opportunity to kidnap the girl to detached a spec ops unit in the guise of burglars to do it. Mission was simple, Get in-get out with out being noticed and that was it. It didn't end like that however. Her father was more on the careful side due to his past experiences of being a soldier himself and was aware people were coming in, and with that he thought he had the right to defend his family. With couple of shots and few groans later, He was dead and her and her mother found. They'd be beat (and raped) both of them to the point of being knocked out and that was the last day Aida would see her parents again.

She was taken to a research facility as observation for selective genetic engineering by some persistent scientist called EmCore. Their intention as using her as a means to ensure survival of humanity in other more unconventional ways. Using her as a Lab rat, they decided to put her in the oceanic group and transform her body that into akin of-you guessed it! A mermaid! Using her psionics as a mediator to bend her own space into what they wanted her to be, hooking her up to multiple apparatuses to ensure that. Using a nimble and sturdy subject, a tigershark as the base. They conducted the experiment and at first things were going rather well, she successfully fused with a tigershark to look like a mermaid. How ever something in the machine was going hay-wire and well...accidents happen.

The machine amplified her powers too much and she began to grow substantially. Breaking through her tank in little messy fashion. Unluckily for the scientist, when they were looking through the glass they realized that it was bullet proof...Not giantess mermaid proof. With a mischievous smile and a grin later, Aida ate or killed the scientist in the immediate area, more so though, she was looking for her mother who was no where to be seen. An hour later of searching and ransacking the facility (mind you setting other victims free) The military arrived with rather heavy loads of weaponry intended on stopping and killing her. Realizing that, Aida broke through the walls of the facility and rolled her massive body into the nearest body of water, which happened to be the ocean.

With persistent fervor, the government searched for her for weeks but to no avail! She had been getting adjusted to living in the ocean...but it was rather lonely, but really anyone else to talk too beside the local merchant sailors when they weren't freaking out... Several months passed by and her mood went into a sadder state of depression, drifting in the sea as some sort of monster maiden and missing the interaction she was used to before becoming a mermaid. However something changed that.

A group Of dimensional hopping pirates were out raiding Her worlds ships one day until they actually took notice of her. A bit apprehensive at first, they asked the young giant mermaid what and why she was the only one of her kind just sailing about like a fish with it's head off, She told her side of the story and they suddenly became intrigued afterward. Hearing her plea and having some sympathy, they told her to get on the ship and join their crew. Without much thought or hesitation Aida joined their crew, but there was a slight catch...When she got on the ship, She was forcibly pinned down and a gold plated collar with her name on it (literally!) was slapped on her. After it was put on her she noticed that she began to be shrunk and that she was human again, though that was the part of the bargain of the pirates all along. They were going to use her more like a tool then a slave and so they constrained the collar on her to keep check on her, though she didn't mind. She though being a pirate would be fun anyways...

After several decades of Jumping to other planets, raiding ships,finding loot on the ocean floor, and having a large appetite for all sorts of foods (*cough* victims) She was beginning to grow bored of the way these pirates were acting, they would always ransom before even trying to talk to a person. Which is something Aida hated, she didn't want to be restrained with talk someone, that exactly what she was trying to get away from in the first place! So with that, she was given a hint with one of the crewman that was an expert on gaining knowledge about artifacts told her that her collar didn't just let her change herself. It also was magical in a sense and had another attribute or property that was unknown even to him. So then...That left an interesting option, so she thought. With much concentration, Aida use her psychic talent to manifest something from her collar in some way or another. And with enough will power and stress later. Poof, she disappeared from the ship and found herself in a very different ocean with none of her former crew members in sight. And with that Aida continued to her way and actually got the chance to interact with others in one way or another. There fore happy with her new found liberty of exploring.

Personality:

Aida is playful, mischievous, and somewhat chaotic. She loves to play pranks, make up stories, and is know to have no discretion with how she does either. She Is usually well reserved but can quickly be bored if nothing eventful happens in awhile and always seeks to have fun, even most times neglecting the harm of others while having fun. With her massive size, she can be a very intimidating sight indeed, though with she rather has a teenager like collective personality that can seem to look innocently "Happy go lucky" but this is in all her regards to lacking a lot of empathy due to her practically being raised on up by pirates, and the ones she was with raised by showed small amount of empathy in general and would handle casual matters (or buisness) by being rather straight forward. However she's usually pretty cheerful and tries to be considerate to others so that she can talk with them longer.Romance wise, she doesn't really have a strict preference on gender, but the people she falls for the most are ones that have a noble calling, a knight or a brave adventurer (particualry if they are males) and will immediately get uncohesive in her thoughts and words, and also becoming extremely fidgety around people like that. Due to relating them to her father that was a sort of knight in her own special way and would like to see others like him. Her voice is beautiful, confident and alluring, even when she sounds threatening or being too macho (which she does frequently), with a distinct Portuguese lilt. She is talkative, very curious, and will not hesitate to converse with other creatures, even prey. She makes a good story-teller, especially skilled at captivating her audience with mysterious and scary tales, usually of her experiences of jumping through dimensions.

Appearence:

Like all mermaids, Aida can naturally breathe underwater and is an excellent strong swimmer.Due to her being a tiger shark though, she can come off as a bit sluggish but very stealthy when moving in the water and tend to be more manoeuverable then most mermaid, often catching creatures by of how much a quick reaction she has when she's close

She can transform and walk on land due to her psionic abilities, in her human form. Her physique being rather curvy,voluptuous, but well toned and strong, Maybe even a little odd as shes still has her mermaid ears and a smaller/slender tale to accommodate her having legs. Due to her staying in the water most the time, she is known to be rather cumbersome and is a big klutz while walking, so she takes walking like a human with good caution. In her human form, she seems to lose all the abilities of a shark to be normal However she doesn't like staying like this too long as she feel very vulnerable without the sensation of the extra senses helping her.

Like a true shark, she also has an excellent sense of direction in the water and also a good eye both on land and on water (more so the water), often picking up things miles away that she thinks if worth looking at or staying away.

Eating habits

Well, if you read anything about Tiger sharks, then you'll know that Aida loves to eat anything and everything. From the smallest of micros, to even the rarer occasions of things her own size. Her stomach can take it all in. This has led her to funny situations like upchucking random treasure that she didn't know she had eaten or indiscriminately biting on things she shouldn't. Even while she's a human! Always thinking of various foods often even in the middle of conversation that don't mention of word of it. Even though she rather voracious, she actually feeds a lot on fish or scantier meals and puts people or intellectual beings as more of last resort unless there's nothing else around and she finds you particularly interesting. One of her favorite things to do is to pull ships or people in by sightful measures and wonders. Particularly floating small islands or a giant anonymous water spout that is being controlled by her psychic abilities. Heck shell even make merchants dance ladylike and be complete fools to gather a crowd so long as she gets a good laugh and a hearty meal afterwards.
