Miyamoto Akari/宮本 朱星

Miyamoto Akari(宮本 朱星, Red Star From The Base Of The Shrine) is a 19 year old girl born near an ancient shrine with striking red hair, which is where she gets her name. Akari, translating to Red Star and Miyamoto, translating to Base Of The Shrine. Her family have always lived at the base of the steps that led up to the ancient site of whorship ever since it was first constructed and act as caretakers to it, so they took on the family name Miyamoto as a result, as they are the family who live at the base of the shrine. Now, Akari's hair may have faded to a red-brown over the years but she still remains her family's Red Star, even taking on red as her favourite colour and trending towards clothing with red on it. Yet, there's one problem with her... Akari doesn't exactly feel too fondly about shrine work, given that it's a life that has been thrust upon her without her even getting a say. Yet such is life when tradition is how you live. The parent passes the task to the child. The shrine itself is said to be of no great import. It isn't famous and very few even remember it exists, even less actually pay regular visits to the site. Yet the deity said to reside there is not one to be forgotten so easily, Akari herself being proof of that, or so the locals claim. Her family used to use her as a promotional tool, "Come see the child born with the red hair of the gods!" they'd cry, until she started to grow older and her hair started to lose it's natural crimson sheen to a more brown-ish red. After which, it was rather hard to keep using her for that purpose and well, Akari dislikes shrine life because of her childhood. Now that deity, minor and without much power or influence over the world, yet said to be a bringer of wishes and dreams if you know how to ask. Akari knows how to ask, her entire family do, yet they have one rule; do not invoke The Dreamer for selfish reasons. The deity's true name is unclear, none have ever heard it outside of a dream and even then, only in fragments that were hard to remember, so people refer to them simply as The Dreamer. This rule helps the family maintain balance, while also helping to maintain favour with The Dreamer. Which helps, because those who fall out of favour tend to suffer nightmare after nightmare. Now, The Dreamer is from a small group of deities that all possess red hair. Any Human born with such is considered to be a good omen and to have a strong connection to the gods, this connection remaining strong as long as their hair remains pure red. Should it fade, like Akari's, then so too does the connection with the deities. There are ways to restore it however and no, dyes do not count. Nor does having ginger hair. One must be born with the same crimson as the gods themselves. So long as they were, they can earn favour by tending to a shrine or performing tasks that one of the deities likes, thus strengthening their bond once more. What does this bond do? It's kinda boring really, it just lets you look fancy naturally. Oh yeah, dyes are also shunned, anyone with hair dyed red is cast out by the gods and thus, wont reach any positive next life. There can be other negative effect, such as The Dreamer casting nightmares to those close to one of his shrines, but these tend to just be seen as superstition these days. Just bad luck. The look really is just cosmetic though, the person with the special connection to a deity having crimson hair from birth grants no special ability. They just might seem blessed or cursed sometimes, depending on how you treat them. If they still have vivid crimson hair, then being mean to them may well end up having the diety that took special liking to the individual play some rather nasty pranks, while being nice to the individual may end up having that deity grant you special favours instead. Yet Akari, having mostly faded from her starting crimson, will generally not see any special attention given to her. Why did her hair fade precisely? Well, she doesn't like shrine life, so it was seen as her turning her back on The Dreamer, so he in turn turned his back on her. Should she actually put in effort to mend that relation, her hair would in fact slowly get closer to it's starting crimson once more. Too bad she's a tsundere... You know, the type of person that finds it hard to express how they really feel properly? Yeah, mending bridges with a deity with that sort of personality wont be easy... Bossy, pushy often rude for no reason and prone to fits of angry blushing, Akari Miyamoto fits the idea of tsundere perfectly. She likes to spend her free time drawing, usually about whatever classmates have currently caught her eye, either shipping them together or inserting herself into their life in some fashion... She doesn't exactly draw the erotic side of these fantasies mind you, just her true feelings or how her mind has put together the relationship between two others. As far as she's concerned, if it's in her doodle book, it's how reality should be and if it's not, then she won't really care about it. If reality somehow contradicts her doodles, then she'll completely fail to understand the situation and spend hours trying to see where she went wrong or which of her drawings she could twist into being how things really are and, if she can't, she'll understand things even less. Probably the closest you'll get to her having anything erotic in her book, is the occasional image of someone struggling within someone else, usually herself within her crush at the time. This book is something she holds very secretively and thus lets no one see. Anyone that does take a peek, even if they agree that her view is correct or see her and themselves together and make an advance on her, will generally find out the hard way that tsundere don't handle emotions well in the least... Her default answer? Leave no witnesses bar the pudge she'll angrily have to work off. Yet deep down, like all Tsundere, her tsuntsun side is merely there to cover up her deredere side. Tsuntsun being the cold, distant way someone acts to cover up their true emotions, either because they are embarrassed by them or because they don't really know how to fully express them any other way, while deredere being essentially "lovey-dovey" or lovestruck towards someone or something, showing a softer, more emotive and true version of themselves. Akari shows this side is her drawings most, though the collection of cute stuffed toys in her bedroom or the way she occasionally snuggles up to someone unprompted may also suggest she likes to be seen as cute or otherwise cuddly, even if she will deny it wholeheartedly. So if you do happen to catch her in one of these deredere moods, try to keep quiet about it if you don't want her to have another tsuntsun outburst. She might just open up to you more fully if you just let her be herself in these moments. She also has a habbit of taking the one's she develops a crush on as being people she could see as being smaller, weaker or otherwise more pathetic than herself and, should she call you any of these, you're probably the current target of her affections. This isn't exclusive though, as Akari also wants someone that can treat her the way she sees these people to care for her fully, so that she can be doted on and loved like a precious, delicate flower. She may also have more than one crush at any given time, so she might call an entire classroom pathetic, small, whimpy, weak or otherwise un-cute things in her eyes, when she really has a crush on every one of them. Akari, as stated, is a 19 year old girl with short, always bedraggled, messy looking reddish-brown hair. She has bright blue eyes, stands at 5'1" tall and has a narrow, slender body build, making being smaller than her rather uncommon. She isn't the most developped in chest and her build grants her a small, round, compact rear, though she's happy like that. She sees bigger assets as simply "being in the way". Her boyish figure is usually covered by a slightly oversized red and white hoodie with black stripes, though it's only really oversized to her because she's so small, along with a pair of sky-blue comfortable jogging bottoms. She rarely wears anything else and if she does, it's either for a date, a festival or she's been roped into helping out around the shrine again. She has a fancy, though traditional, white kimono she wears for these occasions that she ties together with a red obi. While at the shrine, she'll tie bells into her hair as well and occasioanlly does so for festivals too, depending on whether or not she's working or attending. The kimono itself has a subtle silvery swirl pattern covering it's surface, bearly visible though generally far more so when it's dark or if she's by a fire. Her footwear, at all occasionans, is simply a pair of white trainers with a single red band around the middle of them, even a fancy occasion wont get her to put on anything other than her "comfort shoes" as she calls them, or to make her hair any neater...
