Just your average, everyday ogre.


Meet Grunk.

If he stood up straight, he'd probably hit twelve feet, but he measures ten at a very ogrish slouch. He's big, mean, ugly, and smelly, and he has a big appetite. His skin is tough and leathery, with plenty of warts and sporadic hair, easily capable of turning aside meager weapons (and slowing down bullets, dampening sword slashes, etc). He has a wide mouth full of crooked, yellow teeth. He wears simply a fur loincloth, with a raggedy sack full of Interesting Things* at his hip.

Grunk is a simpleton. Ogres aren't intellectuals by any stretch, but as far as his species goes, Grunk is a little above average. He can best be described as childish; he's impulsive and curious, and if he doesn't get his way, he pouts. Despite his lack of higher thought, the ogre has good instincts; he can hear very well, he has a good sense of smell, and he is surprisingly quiet on his feet. When it comes to hunting prey, he can be difficult to escape.

* Things Grunk considers interesting: anything shiny, things that make sounds, funny garments, shoes, or anything else that catches the ogre's fancy.

Most of his time is spent either sleeping, looking for tasty ladies, or stacking rocks. Once in a great long while, he will do the unthinkable - take a bath. But other than that, it's a simple, carefree life for an ogre.



So What Does Grunk Eat?

When it comes down to it, Grunk will eat anything he can catch. He is a voracious eater, often devouring four or five humanoids in one sitting. When it comes to prey, he favors humans. He will go after near-humans such as elves and catgirls, though as things become more animal-like, he is less interested. He has also acquired a taste for the female of the species; the soft, feminine forms simply taste better.

If the prey is willing, he's happy to oblige. But secretly, Grunk enjoys the chase and struggle of unwilling meals. He sometimes swallows them whole, though he's not afraid to use his teeth. He's not above using a club or his fists to knock the fight out of a troublesome meal; sometimes the hardest-won meals taste the best.

Once, long ago, Grunk had a taste of nobility. He has longed to eat such fare again someday, and will seek it out when he can.
