Angel grew up as the daughter of wealth. Her father owned an enormous plantation in South America, growing vast quantities of fruit and shipping them worldwide. In a country where there were two types of people: The desolately poor and the unimaginably rich, she had the fortune of being the latter. Her mother died (under vaguely mysterious circumstances) when she was very little, so her father doted on her as the only reminder of the love of his life. Vast mansion, full housekeeping staff, chauffered car, private helicopter, she had everything at her fingertips, so much that she took it for granted that she would never want for anything her whole life.

All this changed drastically shortly before her 17th birthday. Labor disputes in another part of the country sparked revolts nationwide, and before long there was a full-fledged revolution underway. Angel's father tried to convince his only child that there was nothing to fear, but when their own workers began to arm themselves, he made quiet preparations to evacuate. The workers nearly foiled his plans entirely by storming the mansion on the day of the Perez's departure. Angel was safely taken away by helicopter, but her father was killed, hacked apart by his own workers as Angel watched from the window of the fleeing aircraft.

Angel arrived in the United States with a sizable sum of money, as much as her father was able to quietly move into offshore accounts before things got too complicated. But of course the girl squandered it all within a year, unable to adjust to the notion that money was no longer infinite. She is now essentially a vagrant, begging for money from anyone who will listen. She has even given consideration to selling her body, though she has not gotten quite that desperate..... yet....
