Anluryn was raised solely by her mother, because as is common among insectiod species her mother killed her father after successfully mating. Under her mother’s tutelage she learned how to hunt and trap prey, how to weave webs, and other essentials for the daily life of a dridder.

The eyes on her forehead are actually tattoos, colored similarly to her real eyes. The number of tattooed eyes signifies her status in the dridder community and the position denotes her skills. The four eyes put her in the upper-middle class of dridder society, allowing her a decent sized territory in a fairly desirable area. The position of the eyes directly above her real eyes shows her skill as a silk-weaver, meaning she has exceptional skill in creating more than just webs from her silk.
