Anuriel

Anuriel

Story

Anuriel is the former queen of a mighty tribe of elves is now nothing more than a handful of them left. It was a tradgedy when a terrible plaque wiped out half of her people before they managed to develop a cure. Neverthless it was too late for their men. The humans did of course mention the decaying and dying elves and did nothing more useful than sending an army to the elves kingdom "To ensure peace." what resulted in a bloody war between the remaining elves and the human army. The elvs didn't have a chance even though they were superior in fighting skills and strength, the number of the human conquerors was just too overwhealming and so the elves decided to hide themselves deep in the woods starting a guerialla war in order to keep the humans away from their sanctuaries. After decades and centuries though the humans started to forget about the elven cities in the woods, only leaving ruins behind them inhabited by animals and plants. The queen and her few followers returned into their former capital city but all they could find was the wish to take revenge on the humans.

They spent several years in the city trying to rebuild what was destroyed but they were nothing more than a dozen elves in a city that was inhabited by several thousand of their kind. It was as if the ghosts of their former friends wanted to keep them away from work, the elves had nightmares and didn't dare to walk through the lonly ruins alone, some of them even refused to enter it anymore and left the city to try starting a new life within the human society. Other than her remaining loyal servants Anuriel did perfectly understand what was going on, she could see the spirits floating around in the ruins due to the improved education and some magic she was though. If you asked her she would admit that the senseless efforts in rebuilding the city were nothing more than a maneuvre to keep the other elves busy and in a group while she focused in bringing the spirits to a rest. She didn't find much sleep in those years as all the spirits remaining persuated her now more than the other elves after recognizing that she could see and hear them. At a certain point about 14 years after they arrived she could find her former mentor's ghost and she discussed the issue with her, both of them came to the conclusion that it would be impossible to put all the spirits to rest seperately and after a few days her former mentor did finally show her a way to end it although it wasn't really a pleasant way and rather rough compared to the experience of putting every soul to rest on it's own. On the next morning she commanded her remaining people to bring the forge back to life while she started searching for the right raw materials in the city, listening to her peoples stories while doing so, until she had gathered enough for the soulblade she wanted to forge. When everything was finished she commaned her remaining fellows to leave her and start a live among the humans, they would know when she needed their service again.

The next day she puts herself to work on the sword startint with melting the metal into a homocide alloy guided by her mentor and the former royal blacksmith she managed to get the work done, then she started forging the sword forming it with powerful blows using 42 of them for every one of the thousands of lost souls in the ruined city. She tried to stay concentrated on her work trying not to get distracted by the whispers of the damned souls all around her preparing the blade for the final ritual to cleanse the city. She did neither eat or drink something for more than two weeks the weight of her crown, the need to free her peoples souls. As she finishes the sword and leaves the forge to get to the crossing in the middle of the city all spirits followed her silent, waiting for their queen to do her duty. As she reaches the center she stands in the middle and raises the sword in the air to speak the magic words, "Klaatu Barradda Nikto" . Everything remainded quiet for a moment before the whole city started to shake and every intact structure started to collapse after resisting the nature and the humans, it was now the Queen, Anuriel who was destroying the city while the souls started floating around her and the sword like an electric charged thunderstrom and with a scream that made the human childrean call for their parents, the cows on the nearby fields making cheese instead of milk, the priests starting to sacrifice virgins, then it suddenly ends and with a flash of light the souls merge into the sword and Anuriel falling over unconcious.

Anuriel wasn't dead though, she woke up few hours later and quickly grabs the sword and the rest of her belongings and hurries to leave the city that still was shaken by earthquakes and started to vanish into the ground. She now was on her own with nothing more than her clothing and her sword that got the name Alandur named after the city where it was forged and enforced with souls. She flops on a stone that marked a former path and watches the signs on it that showed her possible ways to go on. There was of course the possibility of starting a simple life in the woods hidden from the world outcasted and not part of anything. Or she could follow her former companions and people to live with the filthy humans. She relaxes and starts meditating over the choices she had, now that her poeple were gone and nothing but a few ruins reminding of her kingdom's former grace. Otherwise she could imagine herself within the human society as well, of course the kingdom that had put up a war against her decaying people were gone now, too, but neverthless she couldn't let go the thoughts about taking revenge. Then suddenly a weird idea comes to her mind, what about taking influence in the human society their decisions she would slowly gain more power until she was in the position to abuse the human thirst for violence and death and lead them into a neverending war. She started to like the idea the more she thought about it, although she would have to be very patient and enduring being around with humans that much their balance between being disgusting when sweating and doing such ugly things and them being delicious when taking care of their body, when thinking of food her stomach gave a loud rumbling noise reminding her of the lack of food in the past days so she started to make her way to the nearest human village where she'd find both food and her startabout in human politics.

It turned out to be easier, human males were hanging on her lips and as long as she was careful nobody recognized her strange menu, after eating someone she just told the other people that she had to meditate for a few hours that could even take days it was just amazing to see that the humans didn't really care for each other although she did hear some rumors about the vanishing people one with more fanatasy than the last one. Werewolfes, ghosts, vampires but nobody did accuse the former queen among them being responsible for the vanishing people while she ensured to gain more influence on the village. After she couldn't take further steps to gain more power among the few humans there and she moved to the capital city with the best wishes of the people from the village. There she started to do pretty much the same and gaining more power patiently until she got one of the most important adivsors for the emperor already planning to bring him down.

To make it short...

She is a elf with a burning hatered for humans and will kill them whenever possible by devouring them sending them into her belly that is incredibly stretchy. She is going to digest her prey except for those who absolutely don't like it. She's got a magic sword holding the souls of thousands of her people listening to the name Alandur named after the last elven capital city and kingdom. She knows how to use it, too so if you expect her being an easy meal you're wrong.
