Applia is at Permavore_Risk!

Space War One has been dragging on between Earth and her Colonies for decades now due to the length of time needed to travel between planets. Even with FTL Drives, the distances between planets and systems is vast, an attack can fail due to having insufficient force long before it ever reaches it's destination.

Such was the case with the 3rd Recon Squadron. Their transport corvette came out of lightspeed over what was supposed to be an empty world, only to come under fire from orbital platforms belonging to the Earth Interstellar Government. The ship was destroyed, but not before it could launch it's fighters in an effort to save itself. After the mothership's destruction, only one of the fighters was able to break through the orbital defenses to crash-land on the planet below. That one fighter was Orreries Seven, piloted by Applia Grune.

Applia is a high-spirited young woman, whom joined the Colonial Independence Movement out of loyalty to her home and a desire for freedom from a foreign power. An eternal optimist, Applia has always been a morale booster for her teammates and a joy for others to work with. She's possessed of a keen intellect and sharp reflexes, melding them together with a dedication to duty and those around her that's rarely seen in a professional military, let alone a rag-tag group of rebels like the Colonials.

Now, Applia finds herself crash-landed on a planet that Earth has 'quarantined'. An alien environment hostile to human life, it's populated by all manner of strange and dangerous creatures, both native and created by a now-defect Earth-based BioCorp research facility that experimented with biological weapons of war. Applia's got her long range distress beacon set up, but it could literally be years before help arrives. If it's even cost-effective to mount a rescue. And so, Applia's resolved to find a way to get off of the planet and get to the orbital stations so that she can surrender herself to the United Earth Government forces stationed up there to maintain the quarantine. Capture has got to be better then being killed, right?

But Applia's got a long, hard road ahead of her. Her fighter is a mess and might not be repairable. She's only got so many days worth of survival supplies and a small energy pistol to defend herself. And there are a lot of hostile creatures out there that would love to rip her to shreds. And so, with little more then pluck and valor to keep her safe, Applia has made her first tentative steps into a hostile world.
