A demon who forsook his original name and has thus taken up the class of being a Masked Hero. Much like
Jigokuhime, the oddly named "Apteno Man" has taken up a weird code of 'justice' that's normally unheard of in most demonic societies, although some could say that this 'justice' most Masked Heroes wield is, in fact, the birth of a rising fascination demons have had with humans and their ideals on what makes a 'hero'. Indeed, one could say that Apteno Man is the same as these demons, enchanted by the archetype of a Hero and have thus transformed himself into what he has idolized for most of his life. Much of Apteno's early life is shrouded in mystery and asking him usually yields him (nervously) dodging the question. However, hints suggest that he was just another demon peasant in the Netherworld of a powerful Overlord. Apparently, Apteno was dissatisfied with the way his life was going and, not wanting to remain as he was, became a Masked Hero to fill the void his life was slowly becoming. Apteno himself is actually somewhat cowardly and while he boasts a dramatic and flashy demeanor, he is quick to run away from a situation that greatly exceeds his heroic capabilities. Sure, it's the fact that he runs away from bigger problems that troubles him but, apart of Apteno is in denial enough to say he fights smart and "flees a battle to fight another day". Apteno believes heavily in his "Heroic code" which usually consists of fighting smart and become a role model to children. Not much of a code? He doesn't realize it either, but it's enough to give him motivation to always keep trying and never give up.
Super powers? Apteno...has very little of those, really. At least, not any that are unique to him like some of the more specialized demons. Apteno is fairly versed in Fist and Gun based combat, as per his class affinity and also boasts a near super human speed. As such, he can actually prove to be rather dangerous with his fists and guns if the opponent doesn't watch it. He does have a gun at his disposal, the "Space Dept. Gun" which he inadvertently stole from a Professor sometime ago. The Space Dept. Gun boasts energy projectiles of both electrical and fire based properties and has a feature in which these energy projectiles can be charged and focused into a more powerful laser. However, in doing so, the gun overheats and needs about 5 to 10 minutes to recharge.
It's even rumored he has a dreaded OHKO skill known as the
Geri no Satsugai Ken (下痢の殺害拳) (or simply known as the Killing Fist of Diarrhea), no one has ever seen this skill in action or know why it's named after something you get from eating bad mexican food, but Apteno often threatens opponents with this skill and most usually surrender. Alongside this, is his ability of 'half flight' which simply means he's capable of jumping great distances and/or flying for a short period of time using a form of Wind elemental magic. Escape is also something Apteno is fairly good at, using his speed and agility to get out of most situations and (if that doesn't work) he'll often times come up with someway to get out of the current problem he's in.
