(Little note, I'm fine playing her in a different kind of setting, I just have a fondness for fantasy ^^)
TLDR, Noble squirrel girl is not as good at diplomacy as her family needs her to be, and so she looks for someone that might be able to give them a different heir in addition to everything else in her life.
In a world where dragons lay claim to territory, predators run rampant, and magic fuels every fibre of every atom, how could a "prey" ever gain power? Well, the answer... Is diplomacy. The smarter predators, foxes and felines, even corvids such as ravens and crows, were quick to learn that devouring every sapient prey wouldn't give them much of an edge long-term over the more powerful predatory species. So, while they would occaisionally make a meal out of some of the prey species, they were far more interested in trading. Prey species loved to develop cities and settlements near water, water that could be fished from, and that was a very valuable source of food that wouldn't try to stab them first chance they get. However, some of the predatorial species were happy to partake in veggies as well, which gave a certain well-positioned town a bustling trading market and a formidable security force. This lead to safety, expansion, technological innovation, and wealth... Incredible amounts of wealth, enough to rival the human and dwarven kingdoms.
I'd apologize for all that exposition, but I promise that it IS important.
Afterall, now brings us to the Silk noble family, the leading family of the founding families of what would come to be known as the Trade Empire of Rasenwood. Power is held amongst these families, but there are different levels. Minor nobles, Major nobles, and the Silks. It might sound like a peculiar name for the highest tier to be called the Silks... But that's because it's a family in it's own tier. The Silks have far more power over the empire than any one of the other noble houses, although their power is smaller then all the other houses put together. The Silks are a family of squirrel humanoids, which would make one question how they came to power. The answer is obvious, diplomacy. Nobody in the world was better at diplomacy then the very first of the Silks family, and nobody has been able to match his prowess in diplomacy ever since either. As things stand, however, the Silks are still well-known across the land for their ability to come to a conclusion that will appease and benefit all parties involved.
That is, of course, with one singular exception. Aran Silks, first daughter and heir to the head of the family of the Silks family. Now do not misunderstand, she is still quite a skilled diplomat, but compared to most people... She is only above average. For her family's standard, she is well below average. She doesn't possess quite as much backbone as her predecessors, making less than optimal deals in negotiations and trade deals. They're still mutually beneficial, but she doesn't have the extra flourish the rest of her family possesses. Where she can trade with the beavers to acquire more lumber, her father could make the same deal for either less money by offering man-power or more lumber and several thousand fish in exchange for only a little bit extra cash. She acknowledges that she's only heir currently because she is an only child with no children of her own, yet. This has led her down a different path, a path that will lead her to another choice for heir. This... Is of course trying to find a proper partner, who will give the family an heir that can truly handle diplomacy with the finesse the Silks family is known for.
Her thoughts aren't all about finding a mate however, she frequently goes around the capital city she lives in to take stock of the citizen's problems. Being physically smaller then most other species, she has also received extensive magic training to ensure she can protect herself should her guard ever fail. When she has time to herself, where she isn't talking with others, searching for an appropriate suitor, refining her diplomacy, and not studying magic... She enjoys reading, with tea and acorn cookies. Mostly historical accounts of the world, but she has received a few fables and stories that can hold her mind captive as she reads them.
Anyways, that should just about cover everything that I can think of for now. I may add more tovthis at a later time, I am not sure. She is remarkably friendly, happy to listen to someone's problem and help them try to fix it. And with that... Well, do look at the stuff below but feel free to approach ^^
