The life that Aria grew up in was different from the one Gupi had come to know before the loss of their mother. Aria has very few memories of the late ewe. Where Gupi was first introduced to a loving household with two affectionate parents, Aria had only their father, who had turned cold after his wife's illness finally took her.

One could muse that this had a big influence on her behaviour-- which has always been under close scrutiny by the people in her tribe. In the land where Aria grew up, it is considered indecent to eat in public, to show or touch one's midsection, or to eat a meal with someone before marriage. These were principles that the clan held dear, thanks to their sacred deity, Faunus, who had saved their kind from what could have possibly been several more centuries of being savage eating machines.
