Astraeus_Guild

{| OOC |}

This is a new concept I'm trying out. These are mostly prey characters meant for perma-vore and temp-perma-vore (more on this later). However, if that idea doesn't appeal to you they can still be played for regular RP's, though don't expect that they'll be around forever. These characters are mostly to be played as a group, but I'm open to using them as stand alone characters too.

Because I like to make things interesting. A single six-sided die will decide if they've been perma-vored or temp-perma-vored. The results are as follows:
  1. The character is "dead" for 3 days
  2. The character is "dead" for 1 week
  3. The character is truly dead
  4. The character is "dead" for 1 month
  5. The character is "dead" for 2 months
  6. The character is truly dead
I will specify in this profile whether they've been perma'd or only temporarily gone.

{| Egul Ravenstrife |}
"Don’t let your victories go to your head, or your failures go to your heart" - Egul

age: 23
gender: Male
occupation: Leader
pet peeves: Loud Things/People
favorites: A Hot Mug of Apple Cider
habits/ticks: Whistling When Bored

The leader of this group of nomadic caravan goes by the name of Egul Ravenstrife. For the most part, they are a band of individuals offering their services to the highest bidder. Whether it be mercenary work, guarding valuables, looking for a lost child, substituting for a teacher, or even serving as a cleaning service; these guys do it all and then some. However, the decision making is left up to him. If the rewards and/or benefits aren't worth the effort then forget about seeing them stick around.

Egul is wise and has survived many close encounters with death, even some battles. Though he feels no joy from them. He constantly lives in the shadow of his painful and violent past, even rejecting those who show strong romantic interest in him, stating simply that his "heart is dried up." His serious attitude allows him to think rationally and calmly in most given situations, however, he has acknowledged that it's a curse to be so emotionally detached. His sister's ambitions and substantial will-power is really the only thing that has managed to make him smile.

{| Duv Gusto |}
"Don’t argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience" - Duv

age: 21
gender: Female
occupation: Strategist
pet peeves: Unintelligent People, Bugs, and Masks
favorites: Walking In The Rain and Chess
habits/ticks: Muttering Under Her Breath

Duv Gusto is the quietest member of the group, but don't let her silence fool you into thinking she's timid and shy. Beneath that soft-spoken exterior is a calculating mind that is busily deciphering and analyzing everything about you. She likes to think well beyond two moves ahead in any situation and can be dangerous if allowed to play mind games. Her manipulation of others is more influential the more information she has on an individual.

Duv generally tries to shy away from violence of any form, often putting her at ends with her comrade Gale. It doesn't help that both of them share no interest in each other's hobbies. Though despite their differences the two have managed to see eye-to-eye on a few things. Duv is also a lot more conservative, preferring to keep as much of her body hidden from view. It is unclear if it is out of her own insecurities or simply because she gets cold easily, possibly a mixture of both. Because of this she often gets teased and poked fun of, even stirring some topics among her comrades on what she could be keeping hidden under all of that fabric.

{| Gale Ravenstrife |}
"It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up." - Gale

age: 18
gender: Female
occupation: Fighter
pet peeves: Bullies, Being Addressed as a Lady, and Getting Wet
favorites: Combat
habits/ticks: Licks Her Lips A Lot

Gale Ravenstrife, the sister of Egul, is very competitive, sarcastic, battle-hardened, battle-hungry, and ill-tempered. Unlike Duv, she believes in the use of brute force and coercion to get things done. She is merciless, loud, and has very loose morals and values by which she lives by. Her brother so far has been the only one to generally have any control and authority over. She seems to respect him as both a leader and her brother, but like every other member on the team, the two have been seen arguing from time to time over trivial matters.

She takes maniacal glee in other's pain and shows very little remorse. Whilst appearing to be driven by general bloodlust, it has been noted that she merely uses violence as a dysfunctional coping mechanism and outlet for her deeply repressed emotional and psychological issues. One of the ways Gale's subconscious and emotional scars manifest themselves is her aversion to the empathy of others trying to relate to her. People presuming to understand what she has been through or how it has effected her is a huge berserk button for Gale, causing her to react in a violent rage.

{| Zephyr Sumatra |}
"If you want to know the truth, you must have the courage to accept it. " - Zephyr

age: 22
gender: Male
occupation: Scout
pet peeves: Not Being Able To Relax
favorites: Watermelons, and Playing Instruments
habits/ticks: Daydreaming and Chewing on Something

Zephyr Sumatra has a long-standing history with Egul as the two grew up together as friends, to the point where the two share a strong bromance. He has a walgeon (walrus-pideon) named Pudge, who he often refers to as his guardian angel. On more than one occasion has Pudge saved Zephyr's life. The two have such a deep-seated bond that they are even able to communicate despite the language barrier between them. It's not uncommon to see Zephyr seemingly talking to himself though he claims to be having a conversation with Pudge.

Zephyr generally gets along well with the others because of his intuitive instincts and observational skills. He is usually able to tell at a glance when people are upset, angry, or happy, and uses this knowledge to his own benefit depending on the situation at hand. While perceived as lazy by his fellow comrades, Zephyr won't hesitate to be engaged if things get dangerous. He is also known as the jokester of the group, often fooling around, making up stories, and giving everyone he meets a nickname.

{| Fawlkin Sirocco |}
"A person who only cares about themselves can't be called a person." - Fawlkin

age: 20
gender: Female
occupation: Sniper
pet peeves: Crying, Cold, and Children
favorites: Cooking
habits/ticks: None

Fawlkin Sirocco is considered to be an isolated, exclusionary type; friendship doesn’t come to her easily. However despite that she was convinced to join the Astraeus Guild after they aided her in taking down the ones responsible for her families’ death. She is rarely seen smiling and often has an emotionless expression that borderlines a scowl. Fawlkin has a sharp mind and an even sharper tongue.

Despite Fawlkin’s cold outlook on the world she has been known to show her softer and nicer side to those she has deemed worthy of her respect. She also has a strong sense of right and wrong, and is very protective of her guild mates, thus making her out to be sort of a maternal figure among them; however strict.

{| Hok Squall |}
"Failure is not falling, but refusing to get up." - Hok

age: 19
gender: Androgynous
occupation: Spy/Infiltrator
pet peeves: People Better Than Her/Him
favorites: Playing Any Kind of Game
habits/ticks: Making Strange Noises when Bored

Hok Squall is the newest member of the group and thus is still learning the ropes a bit on how this guild operates. Hok is brave, impulsive, persistent, proud, and not to mention a very talkative individual. It is because of this that Hok gets into trouble with the rest of the guild, but it also makes Hok very unforgettable. Hok also likes to imitate the mannerisms and personalities of others.

It is unknown if Hok is a boy or girl given the rather androgynous appearance and a voice that could swing either way. When given a masculine or feminine pronoun Hok will act insulted and will declare and insist that the opposite pronoun is true. For this reason the other guild members just refer to Hok by name and nothing else. Another one of Hok’s more notable traits is his/her knack for silliness, overacting to situations by falling out of chairs or flailing around when agitated.

{| Scene Ideas |}
*NOTE: These are just suggestions. I'm more than willing to talk with you about other ideas ^_^

Shelter In A Storm

The Guild is seeking shelter from the elements or some other threat, and come across a place to hole up. They find that they have stumbled across something dangerous, secret, or supernatural, and must then deal with it in order to enjoy a little rest.
    Optional Plot Twists: (1) The shelter contains the cause of the threat the Guild was trying to avoid. (2) The place is a legitimate shelter of some kind, but the Guild is not welcome, and must win hearts or minds to earn their bed for the night.

Blackmail

Usually through trickery (but sometimes by digging into the Guild's past), an antagonist has something to hold over the heads of the guild members and make them jump. This could be any kind of threat from physical to social, but it depends on the villain having something - even if it's information - that others don't have. Now, he/she is pulling the strings of the Guild, telling them to do things they don't want to. The Guild must end the cycle of blackmail, deprive the villain of his/her edge, and keep him/her temporarily satisfied while doing it.
    Optional Plot Twists: (1) The Guild aren't the victims at all, but somebody they care about/are charged to protect, is.

Breaking and Entering

Mission Objective: Enter the dangerous place, and retrieve the vital item or valuable person. Overcome the area's defenses to do so.
    Optional Plot Twists: (1) The goal is not to extract a thing, but to destroy a thing or interfere with a process (kill the force-screen generator, assassinate the evil king, stop the spell from being cast, wreck the invasion plans, close the portal, etc). (2) The goal has moved. (3) The goal is information, which must be broadcast or otherwise released from the area as soon as it is found. (4) The job must be done without alerting anyone. (5) The Guild doesn't know the place is dangerous. (6) The Guild must replace the thing with another thing.

Treasure Ho!

The Guild are treasure-hunters, who have caught wind of a treasure-laden ruin. They go to explore it, and must deal with its denizen to win the treasure and get out alive.
    Optional Plot Twists: (1) The treasure itself is something dangerous. (2) The treasure isn't in a ruin, but in a wilderness or even hidden somewhere "civilized." (3) The treasure is someone else's rightful property. (4) The treasure turns out to have a will of its own.

On The Case

A crime or atrocity has been committed; the Guild must solve it. They must interview witnesses (and prevent them from being killed/eaten), gather clues (and prevent them from being stolen or ruined). They must then assemble proof to deliver to the authorities, or serve as personal ministers of justice.
    Optional Plot Twists: (1) The Guild is working to clear an innocent already accused (possibly themselves). (2) The Guild must work alongside a special investigator or are otherwise saddled with an unwanted ally. (3) Midway through the adventure, the Guild is "taken off the case" because they themselves fall victim to the perpetrator (they are eaten).

Escort Service

The Guild have a valuable object or person, which needs to be taken to a safe place or to its rightful owner, etc. They must undertake a dangerous journey in which one or more persons try to deprive them of the thing in their care.
    Optional Plot Twists: (1) The thing or person is troublesome, and tries to escape or sidetrack the Guild. (2) The destination has been destroyed or suborned by the enemy, and the Guild must take upon themselves the job that either the destination or their charge was meant to do when it got there. (3) Safe arrival at the destination doesn't end the story; the Guild must then bargain with their charge as their token (exchanging money for a hostage, for instance). (4) The Guild must protect the target without the target knowing about it.

We Need Your Help

A person or group is in a hazardous situation they can't survive without rescue. The Guild is on the job. Perhaps it is as simple as a distant yell or crackly distress signal.
    Optional Plot Twists: (1) The victim(s) is (are) a hostage, or under siege from enemy forces, and the Guild must deal with the captors or break the siege. (2) There is a danger that any rescue attempts will strand the rescuers in the same soup as the rescuees, compounding the problem. (3) The victim isn't in need of rescuing at all, but instead lured good-doers over to him/her in order to eat them.
