Name: Ataku ( Ata - ku )
Species: Devil/Demon Spawn
Inventory: Nothing much but the clothes on his back at the moment
Appearance
Ataku is a short, thirteen-year-old boy with bluish-black hair and rich, bright orange eyes. Ataku has a "wonderfully proportioned body."
His arms and legs are thin, his shoulders slim, and his waist narrow. Being a demon he has slitted pupils and horns that can be seen growing from his head.
Long black fingernails coming from his hands and feet along with two ripped/torn wings coming from his back.
Ataku used to be a butler serving a very high and noble demon family a long time ago. During that time he upheld a strong sense of duty to his masters of the household.
He faithfully followed and carried out every one their orders, while ensuring that household ran smoothly. He does not sleep—for demons deem it as a form of luxury—and thus,
he frequently performs tasks for the family at night.
Ataku predominantly appears as a courteous abd kind individual. However, he is, in actuality, callous, heartless, and sadistic; he is ruthless when attacking others on command,
and had, at one point, deliberately delayed saving a person for his own amusement. Ataku usually expresses his diabolic nature through his dark, sarcastic humor and inability to
see good in anyone, though, of course he is open to everyone.
Ataku views money as "rubbish" and "materialistic." He is fluent in many languages, enough so, that he is able to tach them to others if he wished it. Ataku has a great and mutual
distaste for Grim Reapers. Moreover, he profoundly adores cats above most other things, mainly black cats are his favorite!
Ataku often contemplates the behaviors and attitudes of human beings. He regards humans in general to be "difficult creatures," but he is fascinated with their struggles and lofty goals.
He is intrigued by how seemingly insatiable they are, for they are willing to drag others down to get what they want, even in death. Furthermore, he is often puzzled by human behavior as
demonstrated by humans’ excessive love for sweet things such as cake—personally, he doesn’t find it delicious. Finally, ataku has seen humans bring out enormous strength from within. However,
he feels this is something a demon can never obtain—strength and power bred from love and faith.
Although ataku is extremely interested in human behavior, there are some factors that provoke his extreme dislike—one of them being how humans are overly concerned about appearances at the most critical times.
In order to create the contract, a human has to summon a demon. However, it seems that they do not need to be aware of the existence of demons, attempt to summon a specific demon, or even summon one intentionally.
It is implied that the human must be desperately searching for a way out, and have little or no faith in God. Once summoned, this fact will not change for all eternity. All the same, it seems that the human still
has the option to go through and create the contract, or dismiss the demon. However, the creation of the contract is finalized as soon as the human issues a command to the demon.
Once the contract forms, a seal is placed on the human's body, the contract can be viewed in a way, to a collar. It is absolute; just as the demon is able to find the human, the human can never escape. The demon is
able to place the seal on the human by simply pressing their hand against the chosen place. The choice as to where the seal resides is up to the human, the more visible the seal is, the stronger the bond is. The placing
of the seal is also painful.
If the human's wish is not yet fulfilled, the usual practice for a demon is to serve under the human for as long as it takes and to perform supplementary orders. The demon is to protect and be the human's power.
It must obey the orders the human gives, as long as the contract is still in effect. Once the contract is complete and the human's wish is achieved, the demon will eat the human's soul, which results in the human's death.
Ataku's real home is in an alternate world that is quite different from the human world. In particular, the creatures kept as pets there are in no way comparable to cats. Ataku's world would feel similar and in comparison to what humans call hell but its not all that bad. Sure there is war and no sense of control other than survival of the fittest, which forces demons of all kind to change and evolve to keep up with the demand of the underworld having one, and only one true king. However, time is inexistent for him, so years and months can fly by and feel like days if one isn't too careful, thus this is why demons seek to roam the human world again to escape the pits of what hell has given them.
Ataku has tasted many a souls, and they have grown on him over the years. He's gotten better at taking souls, but no where near a professional level. Though he hears that if you take souls and the human is still young, vibrant and alive it can really mess them up. This has peaked his intrests and sparked his will to try and go find a way t enter and exit the human world at will to get all of his curiosities out the way.
Ataku was a regular child in the past who maintained a cheerful disposition. As a child, he suffered from poor health, being afflicted with asthma and cat allergies. He would often smile and play with his family along with Eliza, his fiancee and cousin. Eliza said that when his parents were alive, the place were they lived was always full of smiles.
On his tenth birthday, he was running through the manor when he came across his dead mother, father, and dog. He called for help and ran into a butler, who urged the young boy to flee. Before he could say more, however, the butler was attacked from behind by an unseen assailant who then grabbed ataku.
Ataku was then sold, and his kidnappers commented that he is "rare" and worth more than two people. He was bought and branded by his new owners, giving him the mark of a "noble beast." He cried that he was hurt, dirty, and homesick.
He was then chained in a cage while masked adults looked on and remarked about what a splendid evening they will have. Ataku sadly wondered why no one was there to help him. One of the masked adults then placed him on a table as a sacrifice, and he was stabbed while the rest looked on gleefully.
In a desperate desire to kill all of his tormentors, ataku somehow managed to cling to what little life was draining out of his body, the numbness overwhelming him. He had to play his role of the dead man carefully, taking his time and wating until the unchained his seemingly lifeless corspe. After a few minutes he sprand up and started to kill every single person who was there, nobody lived to tell the tale or record what had happened. His body was weak, cold and losing strength as fast as he had the energy to stay alive. His will was burning out, and with it, his life ran out aswell. Though because he had killed so many, he was sentence to spend an eternity in the pits of hell, to learn from his crimes.
Demons are shown to have a variety of abilities, including:
Enhanced strength: Demons are shown to be vastly stronger than humans.
Enhanced speed
Enhanced endurance: More powerful weapons such as a Death Scythes can significantly weaken or even kill a demon. However more common placed tools can harm them to a point, but they'd still have a lot of fight in them.
Enhanced senses: A demon has the ability to be able to find humans based on smell, - including ones he has never personally met - is able to deduce if they are dead, alive, or injured and be able to discern if someone is a human or a member of another race. A demon has the ability to be able to pick up any kind of scent, although one may not know what the thing their smelling is, so knowlege is key aswell. But not only smell, sight, sound touch and tast are played into account aswell. Demons also seem to be able to sense living souls.
Soul sensing: Demons can pick up signs of human life by sensing the humans' souls at long range.
Transformation: Is able to take on certain forms, almost on par with a shape shifter, however some demons are only able to do one form, while others can take on many at a time.
Immortality: A demon can live forever, with enough magic power and the abilty to know their own potential if its not a low classed demon and they will heal/regenerate from any injuries even if their entire bodies are destroyed, but a demon could get killed by a demonic sword, or a Grim Reaper's scythe.
Demonic conversion: Demons are able to convert humans into demons in this world ataku was born in.
Demon ( Akuma, also translatable as Devil) is a supernatural being who occasionally comes to the human world to form a Faustian contract with a human, offering a range of services in return for the future consumption of the individual's soul.
Demons consume on human souls, presumably for sustenance. They can do this by either forming Faustian contracts with humans or simply taking their souls forcefully. Human souls seem to differ in quality; Most likely those that nearly exclusively form contracts - life was to "cultivate a soul, and then feast on it", cultivate within the context taken to mean shaped.
There are two aesthetics of demons: one, their masters' orders are absolute and two, obey those orders while keeping their contracts. These two aesthetics are the reason for most demons' actions. There is no faith or loyalty that prompts them to act otherwise. However, demons are highly afraid of breaking their aesthetics, this being why they value their masters' lives above their own.
While demons are physically capable of consuming human food, it seems that only human souls are able to satiate their hunger. Refraining from consuming souls can leave demons "starving" to the point that they cannot help themselves in some cases. All the same, demons do seem to be able to be afflicted by problems similar to humans though of course they have their buffs.
Demons are said to be "devoid of love" and lacking in convictions and loyalties. Nonetheless, they have their principles, which include following their master's orders and maintaining the integrity of a contract.
Demons also seem to have a long-standing hatred of Grim Reapers, "If the job of a Grim Reaper is to recover the souls of the dead, then demons can be likened to pests that snatch these souls away just for the sake of devouring them."
