Atiya

This young girl seems to be around twelve years old. While her features are caucasian, her clothes seem to be Arabic in design - a short silk top, baggy silk pants, pointed shoes and a cotton veil, all of them pink. It makes her look like a stereotypical harem girl... Or possibly a stereotypical genie.

The latter is what she was going for. Atiya is, in fact, a genie! She wasn't always a genie, of course - four hundred years ago, she was a human girl named Emilia Daniels. After saving a strange foreign man from attack by closed-minded louts in the village inn, she was rewarded by the man - himself a genie - with a single wish. After debating for many hours, she decided to become a genie herself, one who could grant 'as many wishes as she liked'.

Whether this was a selfish or selfless desire, she's forgotten. What she does know, however, is that whenever someone states a need or desire, especially phrasing it as a wish, she feels the need to fulfil it - although, thanks to a wish from Lunicia, this urge is far less powerful than it was before. Luckily, her djinni magic makes this a simple matter of snapping her fingers, causing whatever event, emotion or (usually) object desired appear from thin air.

There is a price for this, of course, and Atiya has managed to get out of granting some disturbing wishes by simply refusing payment. The payment can be anything, really, but it has to be freely given - money works just fine, but so could a flower, or a cookie, or even a hug.

Atiya herself is a friendly, earnest girl, always willing to lend a hand, even if she doesn't get a chance to use her magic. While she's been alive for quite a while, now, she still has the same youthful innocence she had when she was human.

Da Rules

Yes, Atiya actually has rules for her wishes! Some of these are self-imposed. Others are simply the way her magic works.

1. No wishes that change the way her magic works - no wishing for free wishes, or wishing her confined to a lamp, or such.

2. Any wish that affects someone other than Atiya or the wisher require the victim's permission. (Note: this requires that the victim is able to give informed consent. Children can for these purposes, but unintelligent animals and such can't, and can be targeted indiscriminately.)

3. No destabilising the world's economy.
