Who is Auri? Well, let's start at the beginning, shall we?

Auri was born some years ago to two loving parents, though she only ever knew her father as her mother died a day after she was born due to a combination of sickness and health complications following. Her father did everything that he could to make her life as normal as possible. Eventually giving up his life in the process.

You see, Auri was born a ferret-taur, the genetic oddity marking her as a demon to near everyone else that occupied the village. Her father kept her inside as much as he could bear, sometimes sneaking her out to walk around later on in the evening. Auri was often saddened by the glares and angry insults thrown her way, but her father was always there to bring a smile back to her face. Thus life was normal for her.

However, in a village where one is viewed as a demon, "normal" can only last for so long. Her father woke her up late one night, speaking quickly. Still half-asleep she shook her head and tried to roll over and go back to sleep. She was shaken more awake after a moment, and then she noticed the noise. The village was usually quite quiet at night, but now she heard shouting. The fanatics that would not stand by with the demon living in their midst any longer had managed to rouse everyone to action. Auri doesn't remember much about that night, just her father finding a cave somewhere out of sight, telling her he would come back. With a kiss to the forehead, that was the last she ever saw of him. Alive anyway.

Auri eventually crept back out, trying to find her father. She forced herself to head back to the village, thinking maybe she would find him somewhere. She found him tied to a pole. She couldn't have gone anywhere near him. A crowd surrounded the area, and then there was fire. Auri ran back to the cave as fast as she could, crying and trying to block out the screams of agony.

Auri eventually made the cave her home, working to create a vast network of tunnels to give her more room to roam around. Years passed, and she's become somewhat of a hermit, preferring to stay in her den and slink through the underbrush when she goes out.

Over the years, she has managed to gather a collection of "treasures." Most of it is just shiny or colorful junk, but she does have a book on fairies filled with illustrations that she holds as her most prized posession.

Auri can be pred or prey. Full, wiggling bellies are fun no matter which side you're on.
