Averosa

Who is Averosa? More accurately, you could ask what she is and still receive a slightly baffling, unique response.

Born as an experiment of a primordial Goddess of Warfare named Averosa, the then formless being was designed to be her ultimate defense against the encroaching potential mortals were beginning to wield in revolt to her reign: A living, evolving armor that would be capable of experiencing any measure of attack once and being capable of deflecting, reflecting or countering near immediately, composed of countless specialists of any school of combat or sorcery she could get her grasp on -- even several of her lesser kin were sacrificed. As the malleable shell neared completion however, greed and vanity edged at the goddess' mind, prompting her to try on the flexible armament for sheer curiosity.

This was the Goddess of Warfare's last act, known to none who quickly became aware of her disappearance and subtly investigated what occurred. The only remnant they found was a remotely sealed off chamber filled with numerous evidence of experimentation and a foul, unquenchable fear of the most likely outcome of what occurred: The experiment escaped, somehow using the goddess' powers for its own purpose. And with the power to leap through time, space and reality itself, they could only hope it was a failed dream.
