Because of this, she's stopped going by her mother's last name and started going by 'Emily Michelle', being raised by teachers and neighbors who look after her. In Michelle's heart, she's an orphan.
Using the income from her part-time job, she rents a small studio flat above a convenience store, between a used book store and a never-closed laundromat. Her land-lord is one of her favorite teachers, and she gets a great deal on the rent because of it. She's friends with most of her neighbors, and many of them keep her company by inviting her over for dinner. Still, sometimes she needs a little extra money to make due, and regularly poses nude for night classes at the local community college.
Whenever she works, she tends to wear most of her bunny uniform under her regular clothes, even if she's only scheduled for quiet hours. Recently, because of her failing grades, she's been skipping classes to pick up extra shifts at the Bunny Cafe. Michelle plans to start working at the Bunny Cafe full-time starting the end of the school year, regardless of exam results.
