This is exactly what it looks like, a washing machine. Standing at about 5 foot square though, it's somewhat bigger than a normal washing machine. Most of the time, it is inactive, sitting looking innocent somewhere. However, that is until something or someone gets too close.

When a living creature gets too close, the washing machine simply waits for whoever it is to get too close and too curious. People who examine it will find the Washing machine a bit unusual. No visible power supply, no visible water source. It's also on wheels, so it seems moveable.

When someone opens it, it all seems innocent enough. There's a lot of space inside it, enough for a lot of laundry to be cleaned. However, when one tries to load it or look inside, the door will close and seal whoever got too close inside. Once trapped, the machine will start up with someone inside it. The person inside is treated to the rough and tumble of a full wash, but the liquid that fills the machine isn't water and detergent. It's an acidic substance that melts down whoever is inside. The poor victim is trapped and melted down, becoming power for the mysterious machine.

On the plus side though, your clothes will be left nice and clean.
