Briya has undoubtedly always been a bookworm. Even as a child, she'd have a book tucked into her back, and really, if there was something worth reading, you could generally bet the feline would be around it, flipping through pages, utterly engrossed. An avid reader of fiction has drawn the feline to attempt to become a writer herself, though where she's fallen short in that respect, she instead enjoys a little job of her own at a rather sizable library in the city. Her apartment, too, is stocked full of used or worn books of every sort; she's occasionally discovered some ancient, musty, magical tome nestled between graphic novels and an old literary masterpiece every once in a while, and for the most part, never knows when some old scroll might wind up hidden amongst her shelves. Coming from her love of reading, Briya also has moderate amount of interest in board games, especially amongst the tabletop RPG variety.

For a bookish cat, Briya certainly -looks- the part. Standing a meager 5'2", the feline carries a rather soft pelt of thick, brown fur, and two curious bluish-green eyes hide behind a less-thin-rimmed pair of glasses balanced on her nose. Her slightly darker-brown hair rolls to about her mid-back, and is slightly held around her ears by a thick green headband, a gift from a person she admires. A great amount of time spent seated on her rump while both reading and snacking has left the girl with a rather plush-looking figure, her hips, chest and tummy all seeming to have an overly pleasant curve to them, one she commonly tries to hide beneath thicker clothes; sweaters, looser jeans, and anything else she can find in order to obscure what she feels is an overly curvaceous frame.

Nonetheless, as a person, Briya is a fair bit bashful; while she's generally helpful and eager to aid the occasional customer at the library she works at, she frets whenever approached more directly outside of work. As it is, appealing to her interests of books and games is generally something that brings a glimmer of intrigue to her eyes, but otherwise, getting her to open up is often a futile gesture. And, as much as she hates to admit it, a good friend gifting her with a little snack always seems to cheer her right up. When she is reading of her own volition, however, talking to her might as well mean you're conversing with a thick brick wall; she's oblivious to the world around her, just about to a fault, when she's lost in her pages.

Though getting her to admit it is near impossible, Briya seems to have something of a fascination, if put lightly, or a borderline fetishistic view, if described accurately, on alternative sizes. Tucked away deep in her closet, she collects an ever-growing amount of fiction about fantastical sizes...a book on a person who physically shrinks away under stress until they recover, a fantasy adventure starring a diminutive fae...she'll reread those books as often as she can.

As it is, she occasionally daydreams about meeting an honest-to-goodness giant, or what it would be like, getting around her house, going about work, if she were minus a couple of feet. As it is, it so far remains an unfulfilled fantasy, but...with as strange the world around her can tend to be, it always remains a lingering, if not distant possibility...

And sometimes, Briya's imagination can take a bit more of a literal turn for the better. Occasionally, when reading a material from her secret stash of size-related material, she couldn't help but feel as if the room around her, the chair she was sitting in, the little doughnut she was holding, felt and looked a little bit bigger...she was briefly distracted, and never got to finish the story about the incredible dwindling adventure of a mad scientist, in comic form, but if she had...

Briya's collection has garnered an immense amount of magic, both out of Briya's natural love for her stories, as well as the occasional magical artifact stashed away somewhere in her broad collection. While it may not be immediately noticeable to her, on some occasions, when she's deeply engrossed enough in her stories, they can start causing physical changes. A book with the subject of shrinking, as mentioned above, could wind up with Briya diminishing; likewise, a story about someone's sudden, unnatural growth spurt could cause someone around her to begin to swell up in size! Additionally, if she's focused enough on a character, she might begin to take on their role, species, appearance...the environment around her is also subject to change!

Perhaps the oddest thing about this is that the world at large doesn't notice; no matter if she's wound up a mere inch tall on a friend's desk, or if another librarian is now rather massively filling the library during work, the world around accepts these alterations without question. "Sure, Briya's always been a three-inch-tall squirrel! Why do you ask?" Briya herself is usually aware of these changes herself...and, occasionally, someone around her might take note, too, that something is different. As of now, there haven't been too terribly many drastic changes, but even that can always change...
