Bzzt

Bzzt.

That's how most creatures recognize that the bee-girl is close by, the sound of her buzzing wings and the name she took for herself when one inquisitive soul began to press her on the matter and she felt compelled to say something. Is it her real name? Well...yes and no. Bee-girls like Bzzt don't really have names of their own, they're more like extensions of the hive given limited autonomy rather then truly unique individuals so they aren't given names; Bzzt is her real name though because...well...people need to call her something apparently! The bee-girl's hive has only recently appeared in the Nexus and so it doesn't have many drones to its' name yet, which explains Bzzt's (and the other drones) unique order...'go and spread the hive'. Not to gather food (they have enough for a large population that doesn't exist yet) or to defend the hive (it is very well hidden), but to go and ensure there are more drones to serve the Queen and the hive. To this end, each of the drones has been gifted with the unique privilege that is normally reserved for just the queen...the capability to lay eggs and to convert other beings into drones. Bzzt was born a female (like all the drones in her hive) but sterile, so when the Spread Mandate was handed down all of the drones were changed so that their biology included an ovipositer as well as the capability to produce and lay eggs within a host.

Wait, did Bzzt forget to mention that part? Yes, her eggs require a warm body to develop properly and that means Bzzt needs to find hosts (willing or not...) to carry the next generation of drones within their bodies. Some lucky(?) few are even given the great honor of being carried back to the hive and changed into an egg incubator for the glory of the hive, forever remembered for their great service to hive and Queen in its time of need! So how does she lay them? Well, just below her barbless stinger is a slit from which her ovipositer emerges in the correct situations. Once it has, Bzzt will force her ovipositer into one of her 'mate's' orifices and begin to pump them full of eggs until either she runs out of them or they run out of space! Then she withdraws the appendage and, if the mating was only 'good', leave the host to their fate. The eggs will grow and, eventually, hatch to allow miniature drones to emerge from the same opening they were laid in at which point they fly off to join the hive. It isn't a particularly unpleasant experience to be honest and Bzzt has been approached by the odd individual who wishes to bear a brood to enjoy it again, something Bzzt is too happy to oblige them with! If Bzzt is particularly impressed with a mate though...well...they tend to 'disappear' into the honeycombs of the hive.

The other method of increasing the size of the hive...well...Bzzt only carries one thing with her at all times, a big old jar of royal jelly. If you want to find out how she can turn ordinary people and anthros into drones, then you better be ready to get a little messy.
