FYI, to make things easier to understand. Guardians do not guard temples or treasure or anything. Get that out of your head right now. You'll understand as you read.
But to put it in easier terms, a Guardian is a Kitsune Knight.
Carla also fits in almost any world and time setting, since she can use the rifts to move about. However, the more modern the setting, the more she stands out. Even when dressed in her causal clothing.
And the less usual that anthromorphics are in a world, the more she stands out.

Carla is a Five Tail Kitsune, who holds the job of a Guardian or Knight that protects other Kitsune who are just recently gaining their powers, as well as protecting the spacial fabric of the multiverse dimensions. She also protects others who are not kitsune and require the assistance, especially in tryany and evil is afoot. She is a Knight in many senses of the word.
As such, she can appear in any world, from modern to fantasy to sci-fi, with most of her powers intact. The further away from Magic Dimensions she is though, the less pronounced her power is. So feel free to approach, she can fit into most world settings, in her own way.

Carla is a member of the Kitsune Consulate on the Tesseract World of Escher. (If you don’t know what a Tesseract World is, just ask OOC). The Consulate is its own proto-dimension, with a central nexus of ley-line gates that allow people with the right knowledge or technology to open portals to other dimensions and worlds through the use of the multi-verse Rift Gates. This makes Escher a very tantalizing target for people and beings who would like to control the nexus for many reasons.
Of course, there are a few reasons why no being would even try. For one, the Council of Escher are nine members of the Kitsune race, and each of them are nine-tails. And considering that a nine-tail can give many of the demi-deities in the multiverse a run for their money, trying to attack a place with nine of them is what could be called ‘A Very Bad Idea’.
The second reason that Escher is a not a good target are the Guardians. In layman’s terms, the Guardians could be thought of as Knights, protectors of the ‘Kingdom’ (which consists of Escher as well as the fabric of the Multiverse) and others of their kind. As well as most of them will protect the weak or innocent of other kinds and species as well. Each Guardian is at least a Four-Tail Kitsune, and most of them ‘retire’ once they reach the Eight-Tail stage of their life. This is not always the case however. And some do not even retire, they just go ‘inactive’.
Carla herself is a Five-Tailed Kitsune Guardian, who’s primary elemental powers revolve around Ice and Frost. As well as her ability to summon her armor and weapon, and many forms of martial combat arts.
She is a wandering Guardian, usually traveling the Multi-Verse in order to keep the ley-lines stable on different worlds, preventing power hungry beings from using rift portals to wage wars between worlds and dimensions, as well as helping other Kitsune, and even innocents of other races.
For the most part, she can be found dressed in a snug, yet flowing, dress robe that almost looks like a kimono without the flowery patters. The robe itself is a deep fiery red with golden orange edges. Wearing long, fingerless gloves with an amber gem set on the back of each hand. Her hair is usually let down in a cascade down her back.
However, when she has to go ‘on duty’ or get ‘serious’, that is when her armor comes into play. When this happens, her hair seems to waver, before binding itself into four ‘tails’ of hair, each capped with a flame of ghostly foxfire that her kind are known for.
For the most part, she is very relaxed, unless in the middle of a fight. She takes her job as just another part of her life, and doesn't let much of anything get her stressed out.
Currently though, she has been thinking about settling down slightly. Not as much looking for a mate, but looking for someone to form a relationship with, that may lead to something more permanent down the road. However, she doesn't want someone who just wants to get under her robes all the time, she wants a relationship built on equal terms. Try to dominate her, or control her, or even be a sexaholic, and she will kick you out of her life faster than you can say 'Ack!'.
Equipment
Ether-Elemental Armor: Carla’s armor is an Ether-Metal based construct, that she summons to her by will alone. She can summon it directly onto her body, which tends to muse up and pinch her fur…and is rather uncomfortable for long periods of use. But it works for emergencies. Or she can summon it near her and put it on manually. Which takes time, and kind of leaves her naked between the times she is in her clothing, and in her armor.
FrostWind: Carla’s signature sentient-sword, passed down from one Guardian to the next when the previous Guardian retires which is capable of cutting through most known metals and minerals with the right amount of force. It is as light as a feather to her, but it’s true weight to anyone else who tries to pick it up….if they don’t get instant frost-burn from trying to handle it without her permission.
Abilities
WinterLand: Carla can create, at any time, a winter-like scenery. Falling snow, colder temperatures, even ice crystals. This is mostly done on a whim for her, as a way of relaxing, or for enjoyment and fun. It has very little combat uses, except for maybe making others cold, or icing over the ground if it is smooth enough.
Ice Dragon Claws: Carla can create what looks to be large ‘claws’ of ice over and attached to the gauntlets of her armor. This ice is so cold, it is as hard as steel, and can create frost-burn or frost-bite if it strikes someone’s exposed skin or body.
Frost Touch: Carla can, with a little concentration before, or during contact with any object, encase it in a thin sheen of frost or ice. She can even completely ice over an object in a thick layer of un-fractured ice.
Ice Dragon’s Teeth: Carla can create an explosion of ice-shards and spikes that come from the ground. It can either go in a straight line, in a cone shaped vertex, or can encompass her in all directions.
Guardian Ability-Phantom Strike: This ability, is usually a last resort move. Each time the ability is used, it extinguishes one of the foxfires on her 'tails'. Each foxfire takes up to a month to relight itself. If all five foxfires get extinguished, she will go into a comatose state for atleast 2 months, only kept alive by her residual power, and other Guardians that respond to the warning of one of their own in such a state.
The ability itself is rather secret, since most who have seen it do not live to tell about it. And others who have seen it are sworn into secrecy about it. The Guardians do not wish for many people to know details about the ability, since others might rely on it, no matter how dangerous it is for the Guardian to use.
Last Resort-True Form: Exactly as it says, she takes on her true form. Can only be done as a last resort, and in order to counter a being of greater power or another Kitsune or even a Nogisune.

This is a song that I feel is very fitting for this character. When she is normal, lad back and quite happy and easy to get along with. She is even this way when in full armor. But she is also very Mysterious and strange at times.
However, when she gets serious, all things change. Her eyes will glow a bright green, wind will pick up, and the ground and walls will frost over, sometimes even explode in ice-spikes. When the music starts, you can just imagine her standing there with her head down, the wind and frost swirling around her, as the foxfire on the ends of her hair 'tails' flare up slightly.
As the song crescendos, you can see her lifting her head. And during the first chorus, she is walking forward, ice spikes coming up along the ground at her sides and pointing towards her enemy until she stops when the song slows down again. Looking down at her feet with ice and snow swirling around her almost sadly, even as the wind caused by her aura starts to pick up and the ether-gems in her armor start to glow.
Reaching forward, her sword is forming in the air amid an ice crystal, breaking through the crystal to grasp her weapon as she looks up again, her eyes glowing an icy blue now, even leaving afterimages of light in lines in the air as she moves.
Then while the song is speeding up again, she is stalking forward, ice spikes still crashing forward around her, until she explodes into action at the second crescendo chorus.
Yes, I know that was rather long winded, but its hard to explain what I see in my mind in just one sentence.

This is also a song that she likes to dance to, in a special dance she likes to do. And will even use magic to create the tune out of the air if she is in the mood for the dance. Give her a fiddle and she will play it personally!
