What happens when you take a mother to one of the most brutal internment camps and have her raise a daughter there? Well, a lot of things. But the kid's certainly not getting out of that place being quite normal.

Just that was the fate of young Catrianne, who was forced to spend most of her early years in practical slavery. She was only four when brought to the camp, and by the time she hit her teens she had been orphaned as well. Dark things happened in that place, experiments and magicks that took their toll on the mind, but the young girl was lucky enough to avoid attention, for a while. It was on a cloudy day in her fourteenth year that she met a fellow captive, an old monk by the name of Chong. Few knew how the two came to know each other, but the man took her under his wing, and the wardens were wary enough of him not to bother him or his ward.

Chong wasn't content to just leave her protected while he was around, however. Not long after, he began secretly teaching her in his ways of fighting, thinking and living, so she may fend for herself. While Cat was more than lively and eager enough to learn to throw punches around, though, the more spiritual part of her guardian's teachings eluded her. She was wild, spirited, and quite violent when it came down to it, and restraint was the hardest lesson she'd had to learn. Yet she managed, at least to a degree, until one day the camp's command decided they've given them enough reprieve. With no warning, the two were separated one night, and Cat, now a young woman, was to be taken down as another one to be experimented upon. She did not struggle or fight, as she knew it'd be futile at the time, though she demanded to know what would happen to her friend. All she got was that she won't be seeing him again. Awash with inner grief and rage, she waited, impatiently, until her guards became lax, then lashed out of them, taking them out before they could react. Quickly donning one's uniform, she succeeded an unlikely escape, soon free for the first time in her life.

Yet freedom was not easy, even if it was no captivity. She quickly found that nobody gave her food outside, even the garbage she was used to eating. The guard clothes would only draw attention, and she'd resort to stealing what she needed. Without a place to go, she eventually found herself at a mercenary compound, where no questions were asked and only services were given. Fighting being her only real skill, she quickly excelled in the ranks and took a name for herself, forging a life of blood and money... and liking the result. The terrors of the camp eventually stopped haunting her, though her lust for vengeance... that stayed. She formed friendships, became a part of the gang, and didn't hide having quite a few romps. She did make a life for herself, truly, even if not the one her mother or Chong would have wanted for her. But it was a life of danger, riches and adventure... and it was definitely the life she wanted.

Nowadays, she can be usually found at some bar, the compound or her home, if one happened to know where to find it, living a spartan life, her bloody money spent on things only she knew of. The teachings of Chong, as warped as they had became in her mind, never left her, and if there was one of them that truly stuck, it was to keep her body in perfect shape, so when foes come, she either wins, or dies fighting.



OOC Notes:
1) Please, no IC approaches, unless I know you and trust you. I reserve the right to ignore you if you do this.

2) I am admittedly very impulsive when it comes to RPing. I don't plan for it, and am lately not that often in the right mood, but I *will* start one out of nowhere if *I* feel like it. I know that it can suck if I tell you no at one moment, and start with someone else thirty minutes later. I'm not doing it to spite you, it's just how my mind works.

3) I try not to discriminate between males and females, humans and anthros, etc. But I too have preferences, and most of the time they're on a case-by-case basis. Please don't get mad if ours don't match.

4) This character is meant to be dominant and powerful. While she can be beaten, she will never become mewling and submissive. No, not even if you have awesome mind-control and brain-washing power, or hold her at gun-point. I simply don't want to play her like that. If you want her soft side, you better be ready for a LOT of sucking up to her in the right way. Which is not sucking up to her.
