The Chameleon Deathclaw can blend in with its environment, although contrary to belief it cannot go completely invisible. Each Chameleon Deathclaw has a unique default color that can range from red, to blue, to green. This color normally defeats when it is relaxed or in battle often times will break camouflage during a fight. The Chameleon Deathclaw rather uses its surroundings to blend in and preform a sneak attack on meals, more often they lie and wait for unsuspecting meals to come across it.
The Chameleon Deathclaw is matched only by a Mythic or Legendary Deathclaw. With its high health and greater attack power, it is one of the most dangerous variant of deathclaws.
