Charymstrom, Pelagic Hull Gnasher

Usually perceived as a mass of writhing tentacles and shining lights lurking beneath the tides, Charymstrom (shortened to Charym) is a rather big and deceptively strong leviathan with cephalopodic features that is rarely seen patrolling the surrounding area lying just above the Chokedredge Trench, an important trading route between the island country of Aristea and the mainland.

Though unusually passive towards small rafts she is quick to track down and assault medium-sized boats and bigger vessels for food, as they are actually worth the effort. Her impressive intellect allows her to coordinate attacks and even trick captains into crashing into rocks by making use of the many bioluminescent organs across her shape. A few scooped up sailors are enough to satisfy her hunger when she's a little peckish, but she may leave attacked boats completely devoid of life and edible cargo if critically hungry.

Even land dwellers aren't safe from her as she's known to store water within her body and venture into dry land for food. She's much slower and calmer during her quick trips outside of her element, aware that her gelatinous insides are unable to offer as much strength. If threatened, Charym releases viscous black secretions and even deliver powerful tentacle whips at enemies.

Despite her hunger for all sorts of seafaring land dwellers, many divers risk their bodies in dangerous tours into her personal ship graveyard. Some claim to have touched her and describe it as 'like touching jello, except the jello is angry, hungry and grumpy all the time'.
