General:
Cheryllise is the youngest and smallest of four sibling Dreadsteed Centaurs. Cheryllise, as with all the siblings, identifies as female despite her actual gender. Being also a bicorn, Cheryllise has considerably more magic than any of her siblings but is also physically the weakest among them. As a creature of fire and darkness, she is most often seen at night and in areas with recent fires or volcanic activity. She often claims to grant travelers' wishes, but being of a demonic nature, her claims are suspect. As long as she is calm, Cheryllise will hide her demonic appearance. However there have been reports of her seen with hair, tail, and feathering about her hooves of flames; leaving fiery footprints where she walks which burn for days. There have even been reports of Cheryllise taking on a fiery, gigantic form and claiming it to be her true form. She has trampled villages in her fury and blasted castle walls to rubble with her magic in fits of rage. Still, there are stories of the brave and cunning who have managed to saddle the demonic, equinesque sorceress; though not without paying a price for her servitude and obedience however short it may have lasted. In both rage and battle, Cheryllise has been seen with either one of Two weapons; one, a great scythe said to be able to cut through the very fabric of reality, allowing her to pass between worlds, the other an ornate staff which is her means of directing and focusing her rather significant and formidable magic powers.
Personality:
At first glance, Cheryllise appears extremely feminine, delicate, perhaps even demure. This is but a ruse, though she may be the weakest among her sisters; Cheryllise is by no means weak, easily fending off the blows from even the mightiest dwarven and orcish warriors. Despite her demoninc strength and her ample magic, Cheryllise prefers to avoid conflict. Being more level headed than the rest, she is often the voice of reason which stays the more volatile hands of her siblings. She would much rather sow her evils through trickery and deciet, than through battle. However, she is both a centaur, and a dreadsteed, both races on their own known for being proud and having explosive tempers. Once crossed, Cheryllise is unforgivingand forgets any sense of honor or mercy she would otherwise have. Still, when not enraged, Cheryllise is the most engaging and friendly of the bunch. Willing to make deals and contracts with mortals and other beings in exchange for something. Those who wish to saddle her may find that while there are several ways of doing so, each method bears with it a price which even the bravest and most determined may find too steep to pay. Cheryllise is cunning and decietful, though not entirely without honor. Still there are times when she may be compelled to speak the truth such as when honor requires it, or when she has given her word of bond. Another thing to note is that Cheryllise is fascinated by games of chance, so much so that they are the only manner of game or contest in which she will not use her powers to cheat. Being magically so inclined, Cheryllise is know to travel to many worlds and dimensions to capture creatures which she takes back to her atellier to conduct experiments on, or to dine on at her leisure.
Summoning:
The heart of a virgin mare, a bundle of moldy sage, eighteen black roses, the horns of a goat, the tongue of a chronic liar, the eyes of a lecher, and the ashes of a corrupted spell caster must be put in a chest. The chest must be hand made from the heartwood of yew, eldar, and black pine trees all grown in polluted soil. The box must then be painted with the blood of 2 virgins and set fire at midnight in the center of a summoner's circle. The bloody bones of a pregnant mare killed earlier that day must arranged in a pentagram inside the circle and around the burning chest, pointing towards the nearest volcano. While the box is still burning, the summoner must perform the prescribed chant, slay an adulteress woman in the northern most point of the pentagram, leaving her heart, with the summoner's name carved in it between the southermost and western most points of the pentagram. If all is done correctly, the summoner must immediately present Cheryllise with either 2 virgin mares, or 3 powerful creatures to use in her experiments, lest she use her scythe and leave.
Saddling:
Those who wish to guarrentee Cheryllise's servitude and obedience has several methods with which to do so, but each has it's own limitations, price and risks.
1: Gambling-
Cheryllise is fascinated by games of chance, and they are the only games in which she will not cheat. She will always have some dice, a deck of cards, and a coin on hand. If the gambler chooses the coin, they put their soul and all the souls of their hometown up as collateral. If the gambler chooses the dice, they place their soul and souls of all their family up as collateral. If they choose the card, the gambler places their soul and the souls of four others known to them up as collateral. If the gambler wins, they gain Cheryllise's servitude for seven days, beginning on the first sunrise after the wager and ending on the eighth sunrise. If the gambler loses, she immediatel collects the gambler's soul and them collects all the other forfeit souls at sunset the day of the wager.
2: Contract-
Cheryllise is not above making deals. A prospective contractor may petition Cheryllise for her services and aide for an amount of time. When negotiating the terms, the contractor must be careful when choosing their words as Cheryllise will follow the terms of the contract exactly and to the letter. Cheryllise will demand to be paid either in advance or on a per diem basis, depending on whether the contract is for a set amount of time or for an unspecified amount of time. 10 gallons of fresh blood buys her servitude and obedience for 1 day and 1 night; and is paid to her at sunrise. When the contract is for an unspecified amount of time, Cheryllise must be given 10 gallons of fresh blood every sunrise until the contract is lost, she is dismissed from sevice, or there is not enough fresh blood to make payment by sunrise. The contractor must keep the contract on their person at all times and present it to Cheryllise whenever she asks to see it. If the contractor has lost the contract, or fails to provide enough fresh blood for payment by sunrise, then the contract is considered broken and the centauress may do as she pleases. In the case of contracts with predetermined times of servitude, the contract is considered fulfilled upon sunrise the morning after the last day of the contract.
Subdual-
The final method of saddling Cheryllise is to best her in combat and fit with a a special saddle, reins, bit, and bridle. The saddle must made from the tanned skins of stillborn children, while the bit is fashioned from the leg bone of a hanged man. The strappings of the reigns, bridle, and straps for the saddle must be hand made by the subduer and woven from stinging nettles. For as long as these remain on her, Cheryllise is bound to her subduer and unable to remove them herself. She will however always seek for someone to take these things off of her; and if she succeeds, her vengence upon her subduer will be swift and merciless.
