One of many local denizens of the palpagos islands, Cinder hardly cuts an intimidating figure at around four feet tall or so, but his slender figure hides some real power! A hardened combatant, he's seen years of battle with members of the syndicate, and poachers who think little pals like him make good targets for trafficking. On top of knowing quite well how to defend himself, he has the added benefit of functionally being a living flamethrower, which makes him a menace to everything flammable in the world if he feels like being a problem...
Fortunately for the hapless tamers and explorers who've begun to make their way into the islands, that side of Cinder only really comes out if he gets attack first. Most people, when meeting him, find a sly, playful vulpine, *very* eager to indulge in the time honored pal tradition of eating people- whole and alive, of course! But generally, for fun more than for food.
He'll go out of his way to find travelers who haven't managed to get a fire started, and offer them someplace cozy to spend the night, or head high up into the mountainous regions of the island chain to rescue people who are getting hypothermic with a quick trip to his belly- it's like a very snug, squishy, relaxing sauna. One that's a little hard to get out of once you're in there, but... Pleasant all the same! And you're unlikely to be fuel for his furnace unless you want to be. He's got berries for that.
