Clausette

And so it was on the 2014th year of our Lord, one week before Christmas, that Santa Claus finally decided to retire from his position to take a haitus from this world. Such an elderly and kindly man, blessed with an eternal life but cursed with an aged body, had seen his workload gradually increase as the 20th century grew onwards towards the 21st. Advances in medical technology coupled with the worldwide baby boom in the 1940's had seen the population of Earth skyrocket to proportions that Saint Nick had never been able to foresee when he took up the responsibility to bring happiness to children on Christmas. Despite the North Pole's innovations in a jet powered sled and a pre-planned GPS mapped route to make the traditional Christmas route faster...the workload became too much. Santa Claus could no longer make the entire trip through Earth in a single night. So he left his business in the capable hands of his beloved daughter Clausette.

And thus, enter the new Christmas personage known as Clausette. The only daughter of Santa Claus, she grew up at the North Pole as a bustling bundle of joy that threatened to melt the North Pole itself! Clausette was as strange a girl as she was magical…the girl quite literally does not know the meaning of sadness. She’s lived her entire life knowing plenty and showing kindness and love to others that she simply does not know any better. Try as you might, you will not be able to get this girl down. She will do her best to make you happy and give you a brighter day and whether it’s giving you sweet presents she pulls out of her magical bag of gifts or a nice hug that magically changes your outfit to be more festive, Clausette is a sweet person that’ll stop at nothing to make you as happy and joyful as she is!

Santa was tired. His once glimmering soul had grown dim and blank, his eternal body in good health but his aging and tired bones were no longer able to be carried along by his noble spirit. Clausette took over the Christmas business in the late 1980's when the growth of technology seemed at its peak. And over the next few decades, things started to change rapidly.

First and foremost, what was once a job for one person now became a job for many. Clausette isn't the only Santa of the world. There is a Santa just like her for each region on Earth. Africa. Asia. Europe. North America. South America. Australia and the Pacific Islands. She's not at liberty to discuss who exactly she has running the show down there, but it was important to her to recruit new people to the North Pole to keep up with the rising tide of population!

Secondly, the North Pole began to take advantage of technology. Gone were the elf-created toys in the sweatshops of old and in were the factories of the future!
