Claw Organization-A Roleplay-The Essentials
Name: Valeo Snow
Age: 47 (For Odinians, they live about to 150 normally, so he's more thirty-ish)
Appearance: Kerican Breed of Odinian; relatively similar to a white wolf. Six foot three inches. He is heavily muscled soldier with a strong arm and quick reflexes. His fur is a thick coat, the winter coat is thick and on at the moment. He has small claws for his fingernails but despite his strength... not so much good weapons. A punch would out do a maul for him. He has a scar down his left bicep. His face has a relatively blunt muzzle with a lining of pointed teeth inside the front of his maw, though the back has grinding teeth. Omnivore it means! To be honest, he has more jaw strength than most humans, so his bite is a tad dangerous.
Specialty: General
Weapons: M1911 Similar Weapon
Armor: Flak Jacket (This is for explosives!)
Gear: Wrist Radio
Open means I'm looking for recruits or I'm just goofing around on Snow. LFRP means I'm either looking for recruits or I'm looking for a one shot in some manner. Away/DnD is obvious. IC means I'm in middle of an RP. OOC is meaning I'm setting up a roleplay. Pred/prey will never be up 'cept by accident.
Odinians are anthropomorphic creatures; created from very slow pace of evolution. They are supposedly the same species; able to cross breed without the chance of sterility. Despite different fur types, scales, or anything, they are all essentially like a homo sapien. Bipedal, wingless, opposable thumbs, and naturally more made for use of intellect than strength. If you want to play and your character doesn't fit this mold; feel free to message me regardless. Characters made specifically for this can store their characters with me if you want to make another character for this; save you the hassle of making another character. Go right ahead if you want to create a new one regardless.
What you are playing: A gun based dangerous roleplay. Your character in a mission is constantly in danger of being shot, stunned/captured, or devoured by the alien enemies. At first, I shall rely on my roleplayers to take hits and I'll do so for my own. IF this is a problem; I'll bring up my old X-com equations and you'll have to roll for stats; as well as for hits/miss and turn order/length. Don't let me down; rolling will undermine our speed of play and your attempts at good roleplay.
Missions and Overarching Campaign: Your influence over the campaign is doing well or poorly in missions, as well as choosing what technologies to research and how to perform in the missions. Capturing aliens alive and keeping the fragile pieces alive will result in a better mission than nuking the enemy's base. Even if it is more dangerous. Missions themselves are based around various types: UFO Recovery (Either crash landing or landed vessel), City Defense (Aliens are showing their hand, defend this city), Base Defense (Being raided; suggest you shoot back), Base Assualt (Found an enemy base), VIP Event investigation (Have to find, locate, and destroy the alien cell before they kidnap or influence an important event.), Asset Recovery (Important research or tech domestic/alien has been lost. Recover it and purge the aliens trying to recover it), Parley (A talk. Shoot second; only time.). Lot more than I imagined.
Research: What you can use in a mission is determined by your research. At the beginning only your basic ballistic weapons and kevlar armor is available; and all alien weapons have DNA locks. But Alien research is also essential to upgrading campaign craft and achieving campaign goals. Don't just research for yourself, else you'll dig yourself into a hole.
Campaign Goals Currently: Defeat alien invasion force and assure further protection of Odina
Your Character: Is a veteran soldier. They've been promised nearly half a million a year in salary for just groundpounder work; even if they are often the elite of the elite before joining the Claw Organization. Between the bonus and the money; your character is most likely here for mercenary reasons if not here to save the planet. Your character cannot be disabled heavily, physically or mentally, and experimented on by the aliens. No; you cannot rely on cool events in your characters past to make them cool. Just be a cool roleplayer; and remember... you are a badass soldier.
Character Sheet:
Name:
Age:
Appearance: (Height and average height is about like a human, overall look, mention species and identifier.)
Specialty: (Pointman, scout, Sniper, Assault Specialist, support Specialist, Close Quarters, Heavy Weapons, etc. If I ask you what it is; give me info.)
Weapons: (For now, just ballistics. More research will unlock upgrades. There's a max of one primary weapon, and one sidearm; along with grenades. However Heavy Weapons get a heavy weapon slot too and can carry extra nades. Thier primary weapon has to be light though.)
Armor: (For now, Kevlar for ballistics, Ceramic plates for heat. Choose. ceramics are heavier though.)
Gear: (Right now, all you can have is wrist radios and basic med kits.)
Sex: Is on private time. Rape is not really a prime concern on a battlefield. Between soldiers is fine. If you are captured... ask. Probably going to be tentacle rape, but yeah!
Vore: Don't try to have it happen; but plenty can do it against you. Between snake men, gigantic furry beasts, and other creatures, well, there's things that will attempt it if you get too close or stunned.
Claw Organization-A Roleplay-The Fluff
Odina is a world that would seem strange to us, but hardly any stranger than they would view us. In many ways its similar to Earth of today; sky scrapers, paved roads, cars, wooden houses in suburbs, super markets. Other ways it is not; nuclear power rules the day and most of the cars rely on fission batteries or power from power stations. Information technology is just in its infancy; computers only used for scientific and government purposes with no internet linking them and no cell phones. Some “Wrist radios” fill the slot; but those are hardly the same kind of thing we know. They have visited in manned missions their closest planetary neighbor due to improved rockets compared to us; but their research into genetics and medicine are a bit behind our current state. However such research has given them an advantage against an onslaught they can barely see yet.
Cyndonian Empire- This Empire is more ancient than even it knows. It has a purpose as sinister as one can imagine. They seek to “Consume” Worlds; devouring their organic matter for food and genetic material to upgrade their forces. They have devoured worlds more than once; hauling off their product with them along their long space voyages. Though their ancient home of Cyndonia is lost; once again; the Empire itself is on the rise again. The galaxy is burgeoning with life and most of it ripe for the taking. Elerium once against thrives within those precious planets that produce it. The Ethereal leaders and the hive minds have established a base within the system of Odina; lessons learned from the past teaching them how to better hide it.
The Resistance- The Empire has not known true resistance for millinia of life. A hive mind structure keeps its minions in line; the only free thinking Ethereals keeping the hive mind in line. Those they fight have nowhere near the wit to destroy an enemy that has them outnumbered and outgunned in every sense. Yet, one planet managed to clone and mimic the Empire’s technology within mere months of the start of scouting. This was worry some, moving ahead the schedule for invasion many months and years, terrorism and hybrid spies infiltrating the planet at an alarming rate as they sought to uproot their resistance.
The key was lack of ties and secrecy. While they destroyed the countries; more poured their money into the organization called X-Com which operated without government oversight. X-Com eventually discovered where the enemy base was and the nature of their plans; sending a fusion of their technology and the alien; allowing them to step into the base despite fierce resistance and kill the alien hive mind. The psychic back lash destroyed the invasion fleet; though it did awaken the slumbering and ancient remnants of the empire on the planet.
Humanity- Humans won a victory over the remnants as soundly as they did over Cyndonian’s advanced army. However; it did just as well destroyed their home world of Earth. A few arcologies remained to harvest food but most of humanity was forced into the stars. Cyndonians were soon forced to acknowledge and fight the forces of humans within space. At first it was almost hopeless for humanity though; until Megatroplis Arcology on Earth was attacked by dimensional shifters. What came from the reverse engineering on these people’s technology was the secret to advanced energy manipulation. Disrupter cannons, shielding, cloaking, teleporting, and disrupter armor. With these mounted onto the ships, the Cyndonians soon discovered that a former primitive species had surpassed their technology. But they had their own tricks; reviewing their technology and renewing their harvesting program after a long dearth due to trying to quickly mop up the humans. It was simply not going to happen. X-Com maintained its tireless method but was no longer secret; the militant arm of humanity’s life.
Odina- Odina is probably the only planet to be currently harvested that has enough of an idea it is doing that it has a chance to survive. If it was not for the fact that Cyndonian technology advancements they’d have even better chance compared to humans due to their technologies. Odina is also the only planet so far discovered by X-Com being harvested; perhaps going to suffer some interloping by the “good-meaning” humans and androids. One should not entirely trust the intentions of humanity; lust for Elerium and the need for ore have left humanity far more stained than it should be.
Claw Organization- Like X-Com, this is secret as they come as far as military organizations go. Staffed with elite researchers; the best soldiers that can be hired and kept mouth shut, the best pilots to track down stealthy UFOs, and the best engineers to recreate alien technology. The leader of the organization is two-man. The face to the soldiers and the hands on leader is General Andrian Snow from Kerican. He is a long time military man at an age of fifty; no one is quite sure how he managed to land this position. Most think it’s simply because he’s the only one who could flip off any leader on the globe equally well. The other is the stealthy operations handler called Agent Doe. He/she is rarely seen and mostly handles the investigations and keeping the populations and leaders unaware or well informed respectively.
No organization is going far without funding though, so with some further ado here are the ten funding nations of the organization. They are major countries that are at the forefront of the world of about 98 countries at the end of the day. You can feel free to make up your own country though; this is just got give a cultural and economic sense.
Small geography lesson though about Odina. There is a long strip of land across the North Pole which connects the two major land masses; a great deal of trading goes through there. The western side goes down into a larger area with a point near the northern end jutting out from the strip; and near the southern end it ends in sort of a donut around a massive inland salt sea with no outlet. There is a fault in between the half of the continent; forming a massive mountain range here. More massive in length than height. In between the two major land masses going west from the western land mass is a gigantic lagoon shaped land mass with the second largest inlaid sea; but in this case it does have an outlet. The Western land mass is called Lucreti, the lagoon is called Yov, and the eastern is Kerin.
Kerin splits from the northern strip; one side descending in a wiggly but overall straight pattern towards the southern pole but not quite making it and ending in a rough point. The other side; the western side extends a tendril west; slowly going to the equator before breaking down into a large mass of islands before reaching the great oceanic mountain range. This mountain range extends across most of the latitudes and prevents the use of large ships to go from west to east like the large lagoon land mass on the other side. The temperature varies by latitude like it does on Earth and experiences seasons; though not quite as great as Earth.
Kerican: A great trade and manufacturer center for the continent of Kerin. Standing between the other countries and the northern Ice Trains. This country has a great sense of nationality rather than racial backgrounds; an immigrant culture surrounds these lands. Most of the natives have either moved or died; making the large immigrant population an excellent source of labor for manufacturing as well as giving it a great deal of trade ties with other nations. It is currently the number one economic power; as well as a great researcher into advances in nuclear technology.
Svedistk: While trade is lifeblood of the country; this country; that borders the Lucreti side of the Northern pole, this country also has vast mineral and natural wealth. Timber, skins, and ore is traded to Kerican for processing mostly and the vast trade between the countries have made them staunch allies. Svedistk has a rich cultural history and most of the people here have strong ties to working the land; though the country itself is very hierchical. Some of the best modern soldiers come here and Kerican; making up the bulk of recruits for the Claw.
Zimbrada: Precious gems are the only export of note from Zimbrada; this far southern country of Lucreti’s inland sea. At least to those in the north from more prosperous countries. TO the locals they make their wealth from selling off water from their massive nuclear power de-salination plants along the sea and ocean. This trade and the gem trade has left this country disprotionality wealthy compared to neighbors. The place has a large discrepancy in wealth; causing there to be a lot of poor compared to the wealthy. It also makes most of their soldiers poorly prepared for such a situation and it’d be easy to infiltrate and abduct from this country.
Hoji: The islands off the western side of Kerin are prosperous due to their havens for wealth and also for their ideas on the new information systems coming up. While not a very prosperous nation in the end; their technologic advances have put them at the forefront and made them a good deal wealthier than most. That and the thriving tourism industry across the islands. The Equatorial islands are bound to be targets for the aliens; so be careful. The locals are very communal people and very guarded against the tourists; maybe making them hard to deal with in a crisis situation.
Londraid: The Ancient kingdom from the Lucreti hills has grown up to a modern nation quite well. Rising and falling from power as an Empire of Lucreti; the rise of the Svedistk has sealed its fate as a normal nation. However it has prospered as such; using the mineral wealth, knowledge of exploitation, and mass manufacturing to put itself as a modern well rounded nation. It is the third largest country; next to Kerican and Svedistk; spanning a good deal of the Lucreti mountain range, mostly covering the hill country of it however. They tend to be a bit haughty and most of the languages of Lucreti are derived from here. They are good soldiers though and they’ll do their best against such an invasion as is happening now.
Epo: For a thousand years; this country prospered along the large lagoon as it developed the technology to leave its place. Then it created a massive empire across the expanse of the world; taking bits and pieces where it could and setting up the original Ice Trains in the countries of Svedistk and Kerican. They founded Kerican. However their far reach eventually caused them to collapse in on themselves. The country itself is shambles of what it once was; but still remembers history with pride like Londraid does. It is currently living off the wealth of its ancestors as it gropes for its meaning in the new world. However their Imperial life has left them a beautiful architecture and tourism and information technology has led to a resurgence of economy.
Aberdazshan: Near the equator along Kerin’s eastern strip is this country. It controls what was once thought to be the poor desert land on the proper side of the mountain for which wind rolls. Focused around major rivers; for a while this country languished. Then it discovered the massive Uranium mines in the mountains and with the nuclear power boom they prospered; still doing so. These people are often bitter to other countries; but recent events have softened them and made them more open. The desert is said to breed hardy warriors.
Balindis: On the southern tip of Kerin’s eastern strip is a large flatland plain. There are no major resources here; but is an excellent agricultural land. Controlled by excellent socialist planners; this country’s vast agricultural wealth helps fuel the manufacturing elsewhere. While not the richest country in the world, it does make due. No one is quite sure how the socialist planners get such results where elsewhere it has been a failure but the country is fiercely secretive of government plans. The people here are mostly downtrodden however; hinting at more brutal planning fueling the “excellence” of agriculture.
Emperiris: Sitting on the northern Peninsula is a small country but it is a small country with great wealth due to the excellent knowledge that has gathered here. The best professors in the world teach here and while it will probably be dispersed to keep the R&D from dying; this country makes excellent money at this point from the R&D and from educating. Most of the people here are immigrants; but the people flow in at such a rate that it is no great problem.
Iopoi: Near Epo, this country was once a dumping ground for the human refuse of Epo. This country took to industrialization like a storm though and has developed into a large economic power; leeching off Epo for the last of resources as a modern port country and manufacturer; having strong trade ties with Svedistk and other gatherer countries. It is considered a somewhat ‘loose’ culture though; riding with guidelines rather than rules. This has made it a ‘haven’ of sorts; though Hoji is favored for their stricter regulations to guard secrets.
