Background: Prometheus' origins are as mysterious as the true nature of his (or its) being. Because Prometheus' current form appears to be male, the person is referred to as a male even though he may not actually be one. Some of those that have studied him have suggested that the long lived being has strong ties with Nemesi, his opponent and founder of the Predator Tracking and Control Agency, otherwise known as the PTCA. Prometheus is also the being who took in one Azares_Bludrein after finding the homeless young incubus surviving in the streets by thieving. Prometheus trained Azares on how to use his powers and employed him as a bounty hunter. Prometheus was the being responsible for supplying Azares with jobs, and though his objectives were claimed to be geared towards nothing more than financial gain and ridding the world of "undesirables," the PTCA believed Prometheus was and is possibly still trying to tap Azares' potential towards a more disturbing end.
The Indefinite Being: It seems like an odd nickname - even odder than creepy old man - given Prometheus appears to be nothing more than an old human male but then as the saying goes, appearances can be deceiving. If one should look deeper into the history of this enigmatic figure they'd find clues that hint at Prometheus being far from the person most believe he is. Ageless, shapeless, genderless, and even faceless are all words that have been applied to him (or it) in the past by people who claim to know that he has no definite form.
Lurking in the Shadows: Prometheus is quite obviously more comfortable dwelling in the darker recesses of the world. Aside from the fact that he's in hiding, a reason for why this is might be in the rumor that he's actually a monster whose body is composed of solid darkness, and that he is most powerful in the darkness.
Dark Tendrils: The tendrils composed of solid, fleshy darkness are capable of developing mouths complete with teeth. Prometheus is able to feed via these tendril mouths, choosing to swallow prey whole or rip them apart.
These tendrils also become the transport for his embryonic jelly. Prometheus penetrates select females with one if the tendrils and pumps their wombs full of his jelly. A life form grows rapidly inside that womb and starts to control the mind of the host, making her feel the urge to protect it all the way through to birth. It will emerge the size of an adult man or woman, which ever form it decides to take - often shaped by the subconscious desires of the female host. Prometheus' spirit will move to that new body and his (or its) old body will simply degrade into a harmless puddle of goo. The successful birthrate is very low so every 100 years or so when Prometheus is ready to plant seeds, the being does so in high numbers. It is currently believed to be looking for a suitable host to be impregnated with its next form, so all young females are advised to be on high alert.
