BACKGROUND
Sometimes, bad things happen to good people. Miyako Nomura fought against the Negaverse as the magical girl Brave Garnet until she was, regrettably, defeated in battle and captured. Taken to the Dark Strand Universe, Miyako was tortured, molested, and corrupted until she surrendered to the pain and became tainted by the darkness. Now she serves the Negaverse as the Dark Lady, a twisted and cruel mockery of the kind and gentle person that she once was.

As a General of the Dark Strand Universe, the Dark Lady has been turned against other magical girls, tasked with stealing their pure hearts and consuming them. She does this with great relish, inflicting upon others the pain that was once inflicted upon her. She is, however, jealous of her position, (correctly) believing that her superiors feel her to be expendable, and thus generally finds a reason to destroy enemy magical girls rather then turn them to the dark side. Fewer competition this way, after all. She will not, however, disobey a direct order from the Oblivion King unless she feels it will guarantee her destruction.

The Dark Lady is ruthless in overcoming her targets. Despite being powerful in a fight, she is more then willing to use underhanded or cowardly tactics, such as taking hostages or placing civilians in danger to help secure victory. After all, being a part of the Negaverse means never having to say 'I'm sorry'. Magical girls defeated by the Dark Lady can expect to be carried off to her hideout in the Dark Dimension, where she attempts to break them, mind and body, before consuming them to steal their powers.

Magical girls are not, however, the only ones at risk of the Dark Lady, as the Dark Strand Universe makes a habit of regularly abducting/kidnapping/transforming/phasing out of exsistance normal humans in order to steal their souls/hopes/pure dreams/energy/whatever for vaguely nefarious purposes. Evil purposes!

All that said, despite her power and her predatory nature, it is not unthinkable for the Dark Lady to become a victim herself. It's only a matter of time before some hero is either too lucky or too strong for her and takes her down. Additionally, there are a lot of scary things in the Dark Dimension... and she's made a lot of enemies during her time both as Shiny Minty and as the Dark Lady. And the bad guys are notorious for backstabbing.
