... yeah, Solan finally caved and made this guy... shush up and have a kickass theme.

The Mirror of Truth... Once a fabulous treasure of the Underworld, entrusted to the keeping of the goddess Pandora, it is said that this mirror reflects and makes real the darkness in anyone's heart. Even the most pure and happy of beings...

Such was the case when the angel Pit invaded Pandora's labyrinth and faced the Mirror himself to destroy it. The mirror shattered under his attack, but one last reflection emerged from its surface before he could do so.

That reflection was Dark Pit. Or "Pittoo", as Pit and his patron goddess Palutena have taken to nicknaming him. (He hates that name. Don't call him that if you have anything you value.) As a reflection of Pit, he has a very similar appearance to him, but with alterations to the color scheme (most notably his dusky wing feathers). However, he deliberately refuses to give allegiance to any being. Even happy-go-lucky Pit holds some resentment for the rather playful, almost trollish way that Palutena treats him, and in Dark Pit this is brought to the fore as a strong disdain for the divine. Despite this, he will work alongside anyone if he perceives them as trying to do something he supports. While originally hostile towards Pit, he has settled more towards a rival role, and does not appear to be actively hostile towards humans.

As a reflection of Pit, Dark Pit also shares his wings and their inability to sustain flight. For a period of time after his creation, he was able to gain the ability to fly by stealing the powers of Pandora, who had been slain by Pit, but eventually lost these, and his flight along with them. However, he was seen flying immediately after the end of the final battle against the Underworld forces; how he was able to fly at this point is currently unknown, so the status of his own Power of Flight is uncertain. (His wings glow blue, so it is theorized that Palutena granted him flight temporarily, but this is unconfirmed.) If he does not possess it already, though, he will be actively searching for a way to gain it on his own; gaining Flight by allying himself to a goddess like Pit does with Palutena would be immensely distasteful.

Apart from this, Dark Pit has few goals except to roam. He was created as a reflection of a champion, intended for servitude to an army that is no more. What will he do next? That is his decision and his alone to ponder.
