Introduction

You may think that seeing life from this size is fascinating. Some people may have called it a gift. Honestly, that wore off in the first three days. Being this small is a complete nightmare. At first it’s all quite mystical, you’d be amazed what you walk over and step past in your day to day life. I have found more loose change in the past threemonths than in my entire life, not that I could take it with me. Another awesome plus about being this small is nothing is your size. Things most people take for granted are everyday challenges for me. Stairs might as well be Mt Everest. I avoid going out most days. When I do go out I have to hire a chaperone, it’s just easier that way. For a while my girlfriend took care of me, but it grew old on her fast. The size lost its appeal to her quickly. Thankfully, when the disaster struck it was acknowledged as a handicap and I can claim state aid. I don’t really know what I would do otherwise. Most office work doesn’t have room for a “tiny”. “Tiny” is the name they are giving us now in the papers. I don’t care, I guess it’s accurate.

There have been more than a few accidents to those who were affected by the blast. Some outright disappeared. Others were predictably stepped on or snatched up by animals. It’s been three months since it happened. I have had enough close calls to recognize the safety in my own home. Which, now seems like a mansion – most structures do. It all started with a large rock. These kind of unexplainable things usually do. Scientist are still unsure why only a selection of people in the radius of the explosion were affected. The impact sent a bright ring of light to about a 100 mile radius. It was short lived but some of those who were affected were shrank immediately. The overall total of affected people was somewhere around 248 people. Since the incident about 110 have survived.
