tl;dr: perma-preg creation deity. pregnant with an eldritch horror that she unintentionally created and didn't have the will to destroy.


In the beginning of Dayanara's world, there was nothing. You see, she was a goddess of fertility and life, summoned and given form by an ancient tribe of people. With her long-spanning life came a huge amount of given power. And with all of that power at her fingertips, she found herself... Unfulfilled. The goddess wanted to create more than just fertile soil and fertile people... It was something akin to baby fever blooming in her, driving her to want to make something. No, she needed to make her own baby. A "baby" that would come from her with flora and fauna made of her own design... A universe teeming with unique life.

Preparation for her new child took years... Thousands of years of storing back power the way potential parents saved back money for their coming babies. When she was satisfied that she'd have enough, she set to work. She first started to create the cosmos-- the "heavens" as many called them. Stars and stars in a seemingly endless fabric of newly-created space. She didn't realise how draining the whole process would seem... But Daya managed. After the space and the stars, she created the planets, and on them, various types of life. She'd been mulling over the possibilities, trying to narrow everything down, but she fell in love with so many that she couldn't simply choose one. Diversity was beautiful, and so she decided to fill her new universe with diverse forms of life.

Unfortunately for her, every idea she had was created at once, and thus the horrible byproduct that would be known as Obe was also born into her cute, precious, innocent little universe. This horrible scourge wasted no time in consuming everything she'd taken such care in creating, and ithen set its gluttonous sites on her universe of origin. She couldn't bring herself to destroy the beast that she'd created, for despite how evil, hideous, and monstrous it was, she couldn't help the feelings of love and fondness she found anchored in her very core. Out of options, the new mother did the one thing she could to protect her new babe-- seal the beast away in a place where it could always be under her watch and be unable to escape: her womb.

Dayanara mourned the loss she experienced, cradling the now permanent swell in her middle. She figured she could always try again someday, having learned so much from her failure with her first attempt. For now, she would cherish what she had left of her first creation.
