Dulcina, as she calls herself now, was always rather..eccentric. Quite the theatrical, over the top sort (what some might call a "chuunibyou", even), the young mage wanted to become a big, bad evil lich facing off with parties of adventurers like the books she loved reading. After a very long time of studying the rituals to become one, she started her attempt to cast the ritual that would render her immortal. However...It didn't quite go according to plan. Be it not enough experience, a freak accident, or that simply that her soul wasn't evil enough...She did succeed in becoming a lich, but a rather unusual one, a "Cake Lich" of sorts, with magic more befitting that of a "Pastrymancer" than a Necromancer. Her constructs, including her phylactery itself, would always be in the form of pastries. As a quirk of her unique magic, she can't consume souls by themselves, needing to infuse them into pastries or other confectionaries. Her lair is disguised as a bakery in order for her to blend in better, as she poses as the owner of it. She's actually somewhat friendly when not "on the job", but when she's in "villain" mode, she won't hesitate to gloat and endulge in theatrics. Starting her villanous career, she's found a nemesis in SweetSnackSophie! Their powers are quite similar.
