I am making it work.
There is nothing that I would need to complain about. My parents were and probaby still are wishing for a male heir and they had me. I can not satisfy them, so I just began living my life and figuring out what I want. Attending ceremonies, handling some of our public relations. I tried it, did it, still do it... but that was not exactly "it". Once you have enough sisters and other family members handling the public interest, you can just lean back. Rest. Relax. Pretend you do not care.
And relax is what I do, going with the flow, at least on paper. Let them all believe they can influence me. Make myself seem like I'm playing their game and then use their hand against them.
Enja regularly tries to recruit me into her various schemes to strengthen our country's position in the local neighborhood. She wants to be the perfect son for our parents minus this one problem. She even explains her plans in great detail, thinking that I'm a bit... slow. It's cute. I'll kill her eventually.
She's being manipulated by our parents and I'm also manipulating her. That does not sit fully well with me, but that is how you win this game. If the rules bother you, instead of fixing their rules, play your own! The best outcome would be for our kingdom to disappear. And I'm working for that. Tell Enja about my plans, if you want. It does not matter, she wouldn't believe you.
Leene is different. I can't manipulate her, but her goals are so much more tame, rebelling for the sake of rebelling. She's technically on my side. Or I'm on hers. But no, trust me, she's wrong. The only way to fix our family is to break it apart and scatter this country among the common people.
