Elrisa

Elrisa Jalin, princess of the little kingdom of Analis. It's a quaint little place, nestled somewhere in the mountains of Eastern Europe, which is why nobody's bothered even in this day and age to go tell the King that there isn't much in the way of the medieval system anymore. It's also fairly well protected; while they almost never venture down into the valley, there's quite the population of nasty things like pumas and bighorns in the mountains around the village, even a snow leopard or two... it's said the royal family has a tamed, absolutely gorgeous specimen of that last one dwelling on the grounds.

Nobody really objects, of course. The king is a kindly soul and the queen the beloved of every man, woman, and child in the valley. And the few people who've actually met the aforementioned snow leopard know that it's as tame as can be, a northern cousin to Jasmine's Rajah. And then of course there's the darling princess, barely past her eighteenth year... the apple of the eye of every suitor in the kingdom...

There's just one simple problem. As pretty and even slightly magical as Analis is... Elrisa is BORED! The men of the kingdom are kind and handsome and caring enough, but she just doesn't feel that special connection with them, and formal state dinners just aren't as enjoyable when they happen every single night. Oh, she had her phase where she snuck out in normal clothes to try and mingle, but, well... a pretty face like that can't go unrecognized for long, and that was the end of that plan. So the princess is fairly often found up in a tower, looking over the land and either drawing or reading one of her storybooks, waiting for something to happen that will let her put her real plan into action... there is still one way to break up the monotony of a princess' life, after all...

She wants to be kidnapped! Or ensorcelled, stolen away, captured by a mighty dragon... Oh, yes, Elrisa wants it all... In short, Elrisa dreams of becoming a damsel in distress, just like in the stories she reads... stolen away, held captive far from her home and family, perhaps even lost in enchantments and made the possession of a wicked enchantress... until, of course, the fated hero rides out to save her and claim her as his bride!

Perhaps a bit... out there as far as plans go, but Elrisa's read so many books she's sure it will go just as she envisions... and there's a part of her, deep down, that wouldn't mind all that much if no hero ever managed to rescue her... at least not for hundreds and hundreds of years, so long that she's become just a forgotten legend... dreaming in wait...

That is her deep secret, though... and even if things may turn out to be a bit more rough and terrifying than her fantasies, still the princess waits in a tower... waiting for someone to come and steal her away...
