A demonic legion of the Salmonella bacterium that came to be through a biological experimentation that took place after the shut down of one of the more...productive bio-genetic laboratories in the world. The creation of Enid was due to a curiosity amongst humans that gave birth to the question of 'what happens when Devil Mana is introduced to a microorganism'. To those who are unaware, Devil Mana is a form of energy that is given off by demons from the Jigokusekai (Hell World), an infernal plane located below our known universe. Devil Mana is notable for it's pathological nature and cause hideous mutations to humans and, in rare instances, grants sentience to non-human organisms. Using various resources provided by the government a team of scientists were able to obtain a large sample of concentrated Devil Mana and introduced it's prescence to that of the Enterobacteriaceae, Salmonella enterica. The Devil Mana given to the bacteria caused a profound increase in growth and potency, the micro organism also seeming to grow more resilient to antibiotics. With a new and deadly biological weapon on their hands, the scientists saw fit to test it on a living organism, pulling a random orphan off the streets with promise of a new life ahead. Once taken back to the lab, the subject was later given food contaminated by the bacteria and later observed to see just how potent their new weapon was...
The subject fell gravely ill 17 hours after consumption of the contaminated food, but oddly enough...she began to recover after several days of infection. Knowing that the bacteria should have killed her off, the scientists took samples from their rebounding subject and soon found something truly remarkable; the devil mana from the Enhanced Salmonella bacteria had taken hold of the subject's body in a different manner and had transformed her into something of a 'demonic carrier' of the disease itself. Indeed, she had gained the body of a demon but, also had become a living manifestation of the bacteria she was infected with.
Enid herself is like that of any other child her age, she likes to play and is very eager to socialize with others. She tends to enjoy the company of children the most but, due to her highly contagious nature, it's best advised that she be kept away from them to lower the risk of infection. Enid has...mixed feelings about her new body as a demon, saying that it's better than her old one because it 'hurts' less, but at the same time, the bacterial traits she has and the disease she can unwittingly infect others with makes it difficult to satisfy the thirst for social activity. The scientists who 'created' her are able to interact with her through protective suits and decontamination, but Enid wants to see more than just a man in a hazmat suit she sees every other day. For this reason, Enid was given rubber gloves and a surgical mask to allow her access to the outside world. Even though Enid's favored food is omelets, her nature as a demon forces her to crave flesh. Indeed, Enid is predatory and, while she often dislikes the fact that her only contact with humans is through her having to kill them, it's at least someway to interact with them before killing them and eating their flesh.
Enid's powers and abilities stem directly from the bacteria she has become, her body being able to regenerate thanks to the replication attribute of the microorganism. She doesn't appear to have any offensive powers, save for her Flagellum that take the form of tentacles. Most of what makes Enid dangerous is the fact that she can infect those with various forms of Salmonella by touch, breath or giving them food she's made. She's generally immune to anti-bacterial or antibiotic weapons but, higher level strengths have been noted for causing her harm. As you can probably guess, eating her is suicide.
