Eris is the goddess who calls forth war and discord. According to the Iliad, she wanders about, at first small and insignificant, but she soon raises her head up to heaven. She is the friend and sister of Ares, and with him she delights in the tumult of war, increasing the moaning of men. She was insatiable in her desire for bloodshed, and after all the other gods have withdrawn from the battle-field, she would remain, rejoicing over the havoc that has been made. According to Hesiod she is a daughter of Night, and the poet describes her as the mother of a variety of allegorical beings, which are the causes or representatives of man's misfortunes. It was Eris who 'threw' the apple into the assembly of the gods, the cause of so much suffering and war.....

"...And now you know why i'm here...."

It was hard to believe that this...girl, nay schoolgirl standing in front of you was a goddess, but the seeming neverending supply of apples she had made you wonder from time to time...Not to mention the fact she did not seem to have parents...or a car...she never got on the bus, or had many friends....well the friends part simply could have been how weird she was....

And yet here she was telling you everything....everything she knew about herself anyway, her past and how she use to be....

"...I was a horrible person, causing war, strife, pain and death...A different person at a different time....I still enjoy the chaos, but humans cause so much themselves, i need not to create it any longer....and after Troy..." She sighed, closing her eyes and placing her hand to her forehead.

...you couldnt believe her...so you told her.

"I don't expect you to believe me, but since you want to hang out with me....I wanted to warn you...." Erys said this with a sigh, looking right into your eyes. "...I do not cause chaos, chaos follows me...Being near me will cause problems for you that even i could not anticipate....."

You told her thats just superstition and she shouldnt worry so much.

"....If only it were that easy...." she replied, turning away with a sigh....then with little warning she pushed you to the ground...just as a light from the ceiling crashed to the ground right where you had been standing....

.....Maybe it was just bad lu-

She rolled you just as another hit the ground where they had been laying.

"....did i mention the gods never forgave me for Troy? I think i did.."

Erys is Eris, the goddess of chaos, and though she is no longer the ultimately evil goddess of the days of troy and the romans, she is still punished heavily for her conduct during those days, showing that the other gods still have tempers and are stubborn for eternity. It is the main reason she cannot bring herself to enjoy the discord and chaos of the days past...seeming to have gotten her fill at the trojan war....she was struck with a horrible feeling of dread and regret when she was not allowed back into olympus...was not allowed to return from mortal form, and even should she die...and she did kill herself many times to try...she would not....she stayed alive.....



Her life was plagued with the worst vengence, the gods and goddesses always killing those who got close to her for years and years, though as of late they have begun stopping that, simply causing trouble in the form of the worst luck anyone could have. Lamps fall at her, busses nearly run her over, she could never keep a job as they suddenly begin to fail, or get bought out by another company, one that either hates women, or possibly sees Erys, who is fairly beautiful, and gets her fired. Weather can turn sour in an instant when she is around...and she is also plagued with horrible clumsiness and fumbles objects often....Hense the myth that she was the one who threw the apple of discord into the middle of the room....She tripped and threw it actually on accident.

"....i was going to eat that apple too..."

Erys still enjoys chaos, but in other forms. The rhythmic dance of ravers, the hustle and bustle of cities, the nightlife....all those things were a boon to her and those things alone make her happy, simply because of the chaos around her. She loves chaos in more peaceful forms....and taking her out to a rave seems to bring the best in her. She loses her clumsiness, and the gods seek not to cause trouble when she is one of those places...at least she believes so, as not a one had been ruined since she started going, the club seeming to be the only refuge she had...She wishing she could have stayed in one for her whole life...if only to keep herself safe...


Powers:

Discord/Chaos: She can still cause rampant chaos within someone, even to the extreme of creating confusion within them, causing them to be lost even in familar places...She barely uses this, except when someone is really trying to cause her harm.

Divinity: She cant die, she stays as beautiful as she wants to be, and she can change her body as needed....Yes, she can transform herself, but usually only does it to blend into wherever she is. She also does not need food, water, or sleep, though enjoys apples in any form and loves to relax, especially with someone cute who can put up with her misfortune.

She is also resolutely pansexual.
