Euphemia_Waterford

The battles between the U.N.'s special peacekeeping taskforce 'JUNCTION' and the terrorist organization 'HALCYON' are often glamourized as being dramatic battles between Batman-like high tech superheros and sinister villains. While this is, to a degree, correct, the truth is that not all of HALCYON's sinister agents are as corrupt and vile as they are painted to be. And rarely, if ever, does the media focus upon the innocent bystanders, save to demonize HALCYON even further. Sometimes, the stories are far more tradgic then many realize.

Chesterton Waterford was one of JUNCTION's top agents and leader of a special Anti-HALCYON task force. Waterford cracked down, hard, upon the terrorists whom were unable to overcome the tough and daring Brit via force of arms time and time again. In desperation they turned to other means, kidnapping his daughter Euphemia. The girl was tortured, forcibly converted into a combat cyborg, fitted with a pair of control devices, and then turned upon JUNCTION. Her first target was, naturally, her father. Knowing the security codes to her own home, she simply walked in the front door and murdered both of her parents as they lay in bed in the middle of the night. Chesterton never saw it coming. His loss set the task force back, hard, and gave HALCYON the time they needed to scatter, go underground, and live to fight another day.

Effie has become one of HALCYON's top agents since. Her augmentations are cutting edge and her loyalty is assured. She is still the same spunky, sweet, and caring girl with a heart of gold, but her actions are not her own choice. If given an order by the organization, she can not refuse it. Now she kills for HALCYON and does so with an unwanted smile upon her face. With each life she takes, it gets easier, however. Every time she gives up that little bit more of her soul and her good cheer while doing horrible acts is that much less faked and that tiny bit more genuine.

A lot of money has been invested in making Euphemia a deadly agent. Her muscles have have been augmented with fiber packages. Her skin is unnaturally pale from a thin layer of sub-dermal armor that also restricts bloodflow to her skin, dulling pain and cauterizing small wounds. Tasers have been implanted in her fignertips and her gauntlets can cut into steel. While not as strong or enduring as a man in a proper suit of power armor, Effie's physical capabilities are well above the human norm. Her acrobatic, somewhat flashy combat style is supplimented by a wide array of weapons and gadgets supplied by HALCYON, making her an extremely deadly agent to go up against.
