"Oh, Humanity — all-you-can-eat, all the time. Consume, consume. A swarm of locusts in stretch pants. And yet, you're all still starving because hunger doesn't just come from the body, it also comes from the soul."

Unlike her counterparts, who had their general psyche in-tact for their summoning, Famine's summoning ruined what she was meant to be, and that is a bottomless pit of guiltless hunger that brought out a rapacity in others unprescedented. Now, though, because of how weak she was at summoning, she hasn't the power to envoke that starving emptiness. In addition to that, the Famine no longer has its natural body, which was some inhuman abomination.

The fearsome, powerful entity that was Famine was reduced to little more than a girl. A girl with newfound empathy, as well as a new, unsatisfiable curiosity about the world she was destined to destroy. She, like her siblings, knows that her time has not yet come to walk the earth as they do, and they know not who summoned them or why. All Famine-- Miu, as she calls herself now-- wishes to do is learn about human relationships.

The problem arises when this Miu feels that she should definitely not eat people is stricken with her insatiable craving for live flesh... Miu feels guilty about her hunger and tries her best not to indulge in it, but to her, it would be like a starving person being set loose in a room full of their favourite food. While she is far from dying, she feels that empty, hollow hunger that used to radiate out and infect all those around her. Instead, she tries to redirect her physical craving with learning more about human relationships. What does it feel like to hold someone's hand? What does it feel like when someone trusts you? When they break your heart? Miu wants to know. One should just hope that her desire to know is stronger at any given moment than her desire to feed.
