A fairly normal-seeming human girl living in a coastal city populated fairly heavily by monstergirls. Some even predict that humans may soon become a minority race in the region. Not that Farina seems to mind much. She's quite comfortable around them, having grown up in such an environment. Life is fairly normal and settled in the city, despite the diversity, with mixed classes like those at the college Farina attends. All things told, she's a fairly regular student, though with a bit of a love for visiting clubs at night. She's extremely musically inclined, able to play several different types of woodwind instruments, but is actually training to be a teacher eventually. She has a bit of a love for dance, too, but considering her disability ended up taking a minor in music rather than performing arts.
Well... okay, she's not -entirely- normal, as even a glance at that picture can tell. Yes, she's paralyzed, from her toes to just above her waist. Effectively, that is. It's not an accident or birth defect, she simply hasn't been able to move her legs since the day she was born. She also has no sensation down there, except -maybe- in her hips, due to treatments that tried (and failed) to reverse this. This has led to her becoming quite dependent on herself, especially since her father works late hours and her mother vanished shortly after her birth.
So, why all this difficulty? Well, in truth, Farina is that supreme inevitability of a human-monstergirl integrated society. To put it simply, a hybrid. Specifically, of a human and some undisclosed aquatic monstergirl. (Farina suspects a naiad, but having never met her mother can't truly be sure.) As such, the melding of DNA from a being that would normally have a tail with one that has legs led to a standstill: legs, yes, but non-functional. On the plus side, as a human-monstergirl hybrid, she has a rather distinct inhumanly beautiful aspect. (It's also why the light blue hair.) This doesn't really stop her though, not from enjoying what life has to offer! It's just... a little difficult, sometimes... difficult enough that she starts to get extremely clingy and dependent on those who show her care and willingness to assist her.
