Azir was a mortal empress of Shurima in a far distant age, a proud woman who stood at the cusp of immortality. Her hubris saw her betrayed and murdered at the moment of her greatest triumph, but now, millennia later, she has been reborn as an Ascended being of immense power. With her buried city risen from the sand, Azir seeks to restore Shurima to its former glory.

Azir is a proud, determined ruler who sees potential in others. While she originally had no chance of being empress, she befriended Xerath and saw him as more than just a mere slave, but also as a friend and even a brother. She wished to repay Xerath by giving him rewards and a higher status, but the societal values of Shurima prevented this. Despite this, Azir wished to become empress to abolish slavery and give Xerath what he would have wanted, but her power led to her becoming hubristic, which was Azir's biggest weakness and one of the causes of Shurima's downfall. While she did have selfless intentions for the empire, her arrogance prevented her from communicating her goals with Xerath and seeing when she was being manipulated, and her shortsightedness towards the consequences of her actions caused Xerath's resentment to grow to the point where by the time she announced her plan, it was too late and Xerath had already made his decision to betray her.
Since her resurrection, Azir now wishes to rebuild the empire and return Shurima to its former glory—a very noble gesture, calling upon the help of her allies in order to do so.
However, Azir has shown a quite noble and generous side, since one of the things she always wanted to do after becoming empress was to abolish slavery and help the poor. She has shown a kinder side of herself when she saved Sivir's life.
She is adorned in ornate golden armor that is both elegant and imposing, with intricate designs that emphasize her divine Shuriman heritage. The armor is accented with glowing turquoise gemstones, radiating mystical energy and symbolizing her connection to ancient power.
She wields a staff resembling a royal scepter, crowned with a trident-like emblem that shines with the same turquoise glow. Her headdress evokes the imagery of a bird, symbolizing Shurima's ties to avian motifs, with sharp, angular details that enhance her authoritative demeanor. Flowing ribbons extend from her back, creating a sense of movement and grandeur, much like the sands that obey her will.
Her confident posture and serene expression reflect her role as a leader and a symbol of Shurima’s resurgence, exuding both grace and an undeniable aura of power. The gradient background, transitioning from soft gold to muted blue, emphasizes her divine presence and focuses attention on her commanding figure.

Ascended: Azir is an Ascended, also known as God-Warriors or Sunborn. The Ascended are mortals that were empowered by The Sun Disc into immensely powerful demigods. Each Ascended has unique powers depending on the individual they were prior to the Ascension.
Sand Magic: Azir can control the sands of the Shuriman desert to his desires, creating almost anything that she desires, like massive building and cities around her.
Sand Soldiers: Azir mainly uses her power over the sand to create his mighty Sand Soldiers, powerful constructs that serve as her personal army. The Sand Soldiers are completely under her control, are far more powerful than a normal human and don't need neither sleep nor food.
