Emily Miller was once a normal girl of twelve years of age. One day, she met a certain ghost named Aulii, and the two became fast friends - but, little did Emily know that her new friendship would be the end of her.

Emily enjoyed watching her friend eat other kids - and, perhaps as karmic punishment for giving Aulii so many struggling snacks, Emily herself wound up eaten and killed, reanimating as a ghost as Aulii had planned. Now, Aulii is Emily's 'anchor', and the newly formed ghost cannot stray too far from her for long without starting to fade away.

Emily is very new to being a ghost, and unlike her friend Aulii is completely intangible! She can't manipulate solid objects at all, but she can be touched by mages and others with magical power, as well as other ghosts. Her only special power is the ability to create pink hitodama that can slightly illuminate her surroundings. These hitodama are just as insubstantial as Emily herself, and are mostly harmless, although they do have a slight hypnotic effect if viewed at night.

Emily has a strange compulsion to lead people into danger, especially at night, and especially children. If she's with Aulii, it's night, and you're a child... watch out.
