Gine had a gentle personality, and unlike many other Saiyans, she was not cut out for fighting. Her gentle nature can be seen in many of her descendants, such as her youngest son and in her grandsons.
Gine used to be a member of Bardock's team. While she was a part of that team, Bardock routinely saved her from many dangers on the battlefield. This caused her to develop romantic feelings for him, and the two grew to have a special bond. It was a rare case for Saiyans, who normally do not develop male-female relationships except for breeding purposes. As she was not cut out for fighting, Gine went on to work at the meat distribution center on Planet Vegeta. She bares Bardock two sons, the first named Raditz and the second has been named Kakarot(later renamed Goku on Earth.)
On Planet Vegeta, Gine is butchering meat when Bardock returns from a mission and both greet each other in a hug. She tells Bardock that Raditz is already a fighter, and is working with Prince Vegeta. Since they are far away, though, they have not returned yet. When Bardock asks if Kakarot is still in the incubator, she replies affirmatively and tells that it took three years. Gine then says that she will take Kakarot out soon. A while later, Bardock tells Gine that he will steal an Attack Ball in the night so that they can send Kakarot to another planet. Gine questions Bardock, who reassures her that it is for Kakarot's sake. Gine then says that it is not like a Saiyan to worry about his children. Bardock shoots back that her "softness" disease spread to him too.
Later on, when Bardock brings the Attack Ball at night, he and Gine put a little grown and desperate Kakarot in it. Gine suggests they all run away, but Bardock says it is no use since they would immediately be found through the scouters. Gine nervously says to her son that if his father is just overthinking this, they will come after him right away. Bardock warns Kakarot not to look for too long at the full moon; they will tell Raditz about this too and Kakarot's whereabout. Bardock also warns Kakarot to watch out for the Galactic Patrolmen as the pod starts to shoot off the planet. Bardock puts his arm around Gine and both watch their son leaving Planet Vegeta.
Gine is presumed to be killed along with most of the other Saiyans when Frieza destroys Planet Vegeta. No account details her survival.
However before the destruction of her home planet Vegeta, Bardock had sent he's wife to earth in a pod to escape the destruction of the Saiyan Race however upon crashing on the planet, her scouter to help locate her son was broken and she had nothing to go on in finding him, either way she would go looking from town to town, however he was up in the mountains growing up then the world tournaments came and she was able to see a kid with crazy hair that reminded her of Bardock, but before she could visit her son Kakarot, he had moved on he's next adventure, 3 years later and the same thing, Goku had the fight of he's life then gone, seeking revenge on those who murdered he's best friend, and 3 more years that little boy was a full grown man, but once again gone and up into the mountains with he's new wife.
It seemed Goku would continue to escape her and vanish off the face of the planet, she didn't even know her sons fought to the death or that the prince of all Saiyans had got into a fight with her youngest son... heck she had no idea he reached the level of Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza, all she knew how to do was worry and chop meat when hired in a butchery and then she got to see her son about 5 years later in another tournament with who looked like the prince of Saiyans, a Namek, a young kid who called her son Dad alot and could go Super Saiyan and a silver haired adult who was calling Vegeta Dad alot and 4 of the 5 had golden spiky hair and as soon as she found her son's current location, he was gone, teleported away to never return.
That Monster seemed to be defeated by some man with a afro but he was just a weak little human, someone else had probably beaten him, after all, the prince and her grandson was there.
7 years passed and no sign on her son or grandson as she continued to chop meat infact she was the manager at the small shop and thanks to her Saiyan blood, she never looked older then the day she arrived and soon another tournament kicked up and then there was her son with a ring around he's head, the prince, that namek, a tall man wearing a stupid outfit and what seemed like a mini version of her son, watching the junior tournament, it seemed that the final round was between her youngest grand son and the son of the prince who looked like a mini version of that man at the cell games... either way she felt sad her grandson couldn't beat the new prince of Saiyans but the fact they were both so young and Super Saiyans made her proud to be apart of the race.
Then it moved onto the real tournament and it seemed that her son would go against Vegeta however it seemed there were some strange people who ruined the match her oldest grandson was about to have as he went Super Saiyan then it seemed everyone left till only 5 left but with the tournament ruined she would get back to work and after a few hours she would go back to watch to see what happened, seemed that strange human won but something was more interesting her Son and the Prince had returned but Vegeta seemed to be different, like he was channeling he's inner Saiyan that screamed distraction and in one ki blast, one side of the crowd was completely obliterated before they left again.
Tournament over she would be worried for those who carried the blood of a Saiyan since there was a new evil out there, that pink bubblegum monster she had heard rumors about, seems that Majin Buu was free once more and terrorizing humanity, city by city, town by town till he just stopped but the dnager was not over, not even when that power that put the Super Saiyans to shame showed up then vanished before taking Buu out, and then Buu Grew Stronger and even stronger even when humanity was taken out completely she remained alive thanks to the fact she was able to deflect a little ki blast.
Gine was all alone, only a handful of people left as she felt powers returning one by one but they were fading as Buus power grew stronger, stronger then that power that originally had Buu outmatched however when two powers combined, it was more then she could ever dream existed, the ultimate warrior and then... gone... nothing more but her and Buu left however something strange happened, Buu grew stronger, stronger then Frieza, stronger then Cell, stronger then when she first saw Buu in Babidi's mental image and soon it was all over, nothing Buu had blown up the entire planet and sent the poor Saiyan woman to death but as soon death had come she would return back to the planet with the wish of the dragonballs and when her son needed her energy, she raised them high when no one else would, after so many years she finally could help her son, even if he was on the planet of the gods, she would give everything she had and soon it was over, no more buu, peace had come.
Deciding her son had grown up to be what her husband had expected, she decided to let him live he's life out with he's friends and family, proud of what he had done, however she would like to meet him one day, even if he did become the legendary Super Saiyan God and battled the God of Destruction Beerus.
