Many of the more pedantic Biblical scholars will be quick to inform you that 'Angel' is not the name of a sort of being, but merely a title given to those of the lowest rank. To call a spirit of a higher Choir an 'Angel' is a minor insult, although most such beings would accept the appelation with grace and only correct a mortal if their rank within the Spheres is actually important to the divine business they are on.

Gwener is not that humble. He (yes, that's a boy) is a Throne, thank you very much, much closer to the top of the hierarchy than the lowly messengers called Angels.

Were he more humble, he may yet still be a Seraph.

All beings, even spiritual beings, have a failing; only God is perfect. Gwener's failing is his pride; pride in his appearance, in his position and in his nature. He considers himself above mortals in a way most of the Heavenly Host do not, and feels jealous of the attention they get from God that he considers should rightfully be his. He often takes his frustrations out on mortals as a result... which has not gone unnoticed, but as of yet his demotion is the only punishment he has recieved.

This lack of punishment no matter how much he toys with mortals just leads him to lash out more and more in fits of jealousy. Why will his father not give him the attention he so obviously deserves?

Appearance

Gwener takes the form of a young boy of somewhat indeterminate age, standing at just shy of five feet in height. He has pale skin, and a somewhat confusing mix of facial features that don't perfectly map to any given ethnicity. He has long blond hair, usually unadorned and left to flow, and a pair of piercing red eyes. He dresses more for comfort than for fashion, usually donning a pure white tunic with blue highlights and a pair of blue bicycle shorts. His feet are usually unshod, and don't seem to ever get dirty.

He doesn't really have physical wings, but ephemeral wings often appear behind him, colour depending on his mood or possibly just his whim.

Personality

Pride. Gwener is prideful, arrogant, preening. He focuses on himself, and seems incapable of giving a compliment that does not somehow circle around to be about himself. He is sadistic and enjoys tormenting mortals, but he isn't precisely heartless. He can actually hold a decent conversation, and can form relationships that don't only center around tormenting his lessers.

He likes headpats. He'll never admit it.

Abilities

As a divine being of considerable age and status, Gwener has access to a vast amount of knowledge and holy power. He's not quite as strong as he'd like, thanks to his demotion, but he can still shape mortal flesh like clay, change matter to salt, and bring light from nothing. He can also fly, of course. He has been made bereft of his sword of holy fire - this annoys him considerably.
