"Hot scoop, Ran Yakumo found to be streaker....Yuyuko responsible for eating thousands of people in gensokyo....Mima found alive in old trash can outside kourin's shop...Does my competitor even know what she is writing these days?"

Hatate would throw the offending paper onto the table in front of her with a sigh, putting her hands on her hips.

"You know, there is a difference between embellishing and flat out telling lies...Syameimaru clearly has forgotten what it means to be a journalist"

She would then suddenly look back to her camera phone and with a grin she would grab it and toss it in the air before catching it again.

"Looks like its the job of Himekaidou hatate to put her back in her place!"

She would then strike a pose, giggle heavily and go flying out the door to find her next scoop.

That use to be her lot on life, trying to put Aya out of business....and yet it didnt work...needless to say the cute and warm hatate went from being a reporter...to more of an investigator of Aya's nonsense...and a bit of a photo collecter.

She especially lost her cuteness for a more emo-esk sarcasm...some say it was the teasing. Others say it was her obsession over the truth....some people say the old hatate was a ruse, and she had been lightening her hair to throw Aya off...no matter the answer, it seems this hatate is here to stay.

Things to keep in mind about hatate

* The kanji for "Himekaidou" mean "princess", "sea/beach" and "crabapple tree" respectively. "Himekaidou" itself is a kind of toringo crabapple. (Malus sieboldii).

* "Hime kaidou" also refers to a side-road, often taken by women or travelers who wanted to avoid thieves.

* Hatate's clothes have a lot of purple color. Purple color symbolizes "mystic" or "royalty". "Mystic" might be associated with her spiritual powers. "Royalty" might refer to "Himekaidou" - princess. Also purple represents the deadly sin pride.

* Her spirit camera looks like some sort of cell phone. Since she is "putting in" keywords it makes sense in a way.

* Her camera is made by one of the kappas, though she wont say who. (its fricking nitori)

*She wont use danmaku in battle unless she seriously needs to defend herself...and should she need to, she can make spirit photo danmaku, along with knowing some of the greater sacred Crow techniques, but she especially loves to use "Peerless Wind goddess" Modeled after her rival's famous technique....because it ticks Aya off.

* Hatate hates Aya...thinks she is a hack.

*Aya hates Hatate...yeah, same reason.

*Hatate use to report smutty, crass and rude things in her paper like Aya's bunbunmaru shinbu, even calling them 'scoops' but as of late she has been trying to be the more 'truthful' paper of the two.

Spell cards

Far-sightedness "Tengu Psychography"

A powerful technique using spirit photography, it can either be used to snap a picture, or release homing danmaku in the area the picture is took.

Generally only used against Syameimaru as a double whammy, but will use it to defend herself from time to time.

Wind "Hidden Among Tree Leaves"

A stolen technique, Hatate attacks with walls of leaves while remaining hidden.
But the leaves don't follow each other well, so you have to keep watching.

"Peerless Wind God"

A stolen technique, Hatate uses her own insane speed to begin shooting back and fourth, firing out danmaku rapidly while trying to be too fast to hit herself.

Hatate obviously can't match the speed of Aya though, so she uses her own 'Spirit photography' skill to allow the bullets to curve toward her opponent slightly...giving the technique her own 'edge' in battle.
