Helix came from a fairly rough background, growing up on the inner-city streets of the Nexus. He learned how to survive mainly by taking things from others, and using force when he found it necessary. He wasn't exactly known for solving things with tactical prowess, any particular cunning, and certainly not with diplomacy. No, Helix simply got as big as he could and learned to throw his muscle around when he needed to. As a result, he developed a keen intuition and sharp street smarts, but has fairly light academic training.

Helix drifted around for a while before he finally hit upon a job at a gym as a personal trainer. Not that he knew all that much about nutrition, proper diet, or how to maintain a perfect physique, but he knew a lot about getting big, at least. However, this position didn't last very long before he was fired because, well, he'd been caught eating a few of his clients to fuel his own workouts.

After that, things got a good deal harder for him. While he does possess quite a bit of raw charisma, and his body type certainly helped him do and say a few things a normal person wouldn't get away with, he had trouble actually finding another job. Finally, he hit upon an opportunity when he was contacted by a local "boss", so to speak, a rather rotund lion named Don Liony. He was asked to "take care" of a few things that only someone with his particular skills and mindset could handle, and he wasn't about to turn down money, even if it was for blood.

Being a gang enforcer for Liony has turned out to be something a dream job for Helix. There isn't a lot of political or social posturing involved, he gets fed (and often overfed) on the regular, and people get out of his way when he wants them to, especially when they're in the wrong territory and they know it. Better yet, he has free room and board, and never has to worry about paying for drinks at most of the local bars, either.


Personality and Skills

Helix is, by this point, used to people doing what he wants because of either his or his boss' reputation. He remains fairly down-to-earth most of the time, but he does has a brewing ego problem. After all, it can hard to keep a reasonable few of oneself with sycophants and cowards bowing down to you on the regular so that you don't turn them inside-out. While he is friendly enough on the surface, his pride gets easier to wound by the day, and doing so can be quite catastrophic for the offender.

Still, Helix maintains a good social network, and regularly convenes with friends for drinks at bars, since he can get them for free, and maintains a healthy sex life as well, though with more or less no long-lasting relationships. His disposition toward romance in general is a bit odd, since he lives the life he does. Most of the time, he just wants what he wants, and then he either moves on or stays in contact for regular liaisons. Still other times, women who sleep with Helix never turn up again, because after all, Helix figures they won't be missed.

Even with his loose views on sexuality and relationships, Helix maintains a nasty lust for control, and tries to keep lovers he particularly likes on a tight leash--some times literally, most times figuratively. Oftentimes, if he catches someone he especially likes sleeping around or worse, sleeping with someone more often than him, it ends badly, and typically with the disappearances of both the lover and their partner.

Helix is not an accomplished scholar, and while he has the raw charisma to draw people in initially, he often lacks the follow-through beyond superficial things to keep people around. What Helix is is a brawler, hired muscle, and someone with a strong force of personality. Helix delivers pain up-close, usually with whatever he can grab in arm's reach, and if not that, with his bare fists, fighting dirty and hitting to maim or kill, depending on the job and his mood.

Helix lives in a world of back-alley slugfests, bar brawls, and shakedowns. He is used to fighting any time things don't go his way, and often even when they do. He lives and dies by how well he can fight and a disregard for the rights of others, but when he "punches out", so to speak, he spends most of his time sitting around in his townhouse, walking the streets to look for trouble, and trawling at bars and clubs for women.

Appearance

Helix is built, but has a layer of fat over his muscles. His body is generally hard to the touch, but with some give, and his chest and abdominal region are especially developed compared to the rest. His arms are large and thick, and generally tensed, as though he is ready to swing--and most of the time, he is.

Helix's face is rough and jagged in places, and marked with scars under his stark white fur. His eyes are pink and piercing, one of them usually squinted curiously. His nose is slightly bent from being broken one too many times, and doesn't work quite as well as he'd like. He smiles a crooked smile, with a good number of his teeth chipped, though with none missing. A good majority of the time, the dark skin under his fur is scattered with bruises and little cuts.

The wolf's most typical outfit is a black polo shirt that just barely fails to cover his waist fully, with both buttons unbuttoned to show off his chest, and a gold chain hanging down into the fur poking out from the center. He wears black pants as well, with no belt, and doesn't wear shoes most of the time.
